Property located in heart of Charlottetown, with good access to all amenities. Nancy was very responsive to any issues we ran into, and were resolved quickly. Some clean up of the front landscaping should be done to allow easier access into the home. It does not look like the picture shown in VRBO - very overgrown, covering the side walkway and part of the front. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.

Owners were there to greet us first day of stay, very hospitable the kitchen is well equipped, we used the laundry facilities in the basement, and it was really nice to be walking distance to downtown, we enjoyed strolling the neighborhood greatly! Our one concern was that this was listed as having ac, which we were counting on, and a DVD player, which wasn't there, for playing comfort shows for the kids, not a big deal, but I brought DVDs for this reason. Sadly we could not cool the house down the first day at all, bedrooms were over 80 at night w the ac on in living room downstairs, which is a small heat pump unit in the wall. it did cool the downstairs eventually, but of course heat rises, so we had a difficult couple of nights. Fortunately we were able to open windows to outside air when it finally started cooling down after first nights, which allowed us a little respite from the heat. Other than this, house was charming, there are plenty of quiet nooks for the family to unwind. Nancy is kind and tried to help us, but that little heat pump unit just isnt cut out for whole house air. We enjoyed our stay overall for sure
This is a beautiful, comfortable house - plenty of space and so many sitting rooms! Including back sunporches. An easy 20 minute walk to the touristy area for shopping and the harbour.... 4 min if you drive and parking was not bad. Loved our stay and hope we can come back one day.... I would defintely stay here again.
Close to downtown and the university campus by vehicle (especially in the winter). Good kitchen supplies and space for 8 people to spread out. Was very comfortable.
We had a group of seven volunteer medical responders stay at this location, while they were providing medical services at the Canada Games. This location met our needs.
Outside of property very over grown and unkempt
Laundry in a very creepy basement
TV not working due
to over growth of vines on satellite
Owner very nice and offered a smart TV to use
House interior was comfortable, neat and clean with sufficient towels and supplies
Great location, close walking distance to downtown Charlottetown
Thanks Nancy
Great location for the 4 of us on a golf trip to PEI. Central to all the courses we played and within waking distance to lots of restaurants in Charlottetown.
The location of the house was perfect. We could walk to the fair and horse races, and to the waterfront and restaurants all within 20 minutes. The house is really nice. Sitting on the back porch was a favourite passtime.

PEI Summer visit
The location was awesome. The house had tons of character. Had difficulty communicating with owner and the check in process did not work well.
Great location, spacious, clean, comfortable old charming character house
We loved it. Thanks Nancy and Phil. We stayed for 4 weeks. It was so close to downtown, made getting around by foot very easy. Lots of wonderful restaurants, activities, shopping and sight seeing. We were a large family group and found the house spacious, comfortable and clean. Bedrooms good size and beds comfortable.
A/C downstairs, fans for all the bedrooms. Kitchen had all necessary equipment (except a tea kettle) that we required. Loved having the laundry. Nancy and Phil always replied to any questions within a 24 hour period. I might just suggest a little further instructions for the PEI recycling system, it is very specific. Would not hesitate to rent this property again. It is on a very historical street with many character homes.

Perfect for our extended family
Our family of grandparents, parents and children thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Charlottetown property. This is an old, charming and well cared for home located within walking distance of the important downtown sites. We made good use of the kitchen - large and well equipped and enjoyed the spacious dining room for our meals and nightly board games. In the early evening, we often gathered on the back porch for a glass of wine and to plan our activities for the next day while keeping an eye on the children playing in the yard. We all slept well in the comfortable and attractive bedrooms, managed just fine with the one huge and one half bath and appreciated the laundry facilities in the 'spooky' basement (as the kids would say).
Charlottetown served as an excellent central location for daily trips to the beaches and other sites but it was an evening at the theatre to watch the performance of 'Anne of Green Gables' that won the popularity vote, hands down.

We enjoyed this great large house and would recommend
This house was great for us. It is much bigger than the photos show. We had 4 adults and 2 children (5 & 8) and we had room to spare and entertain friends easily. It has a great patio and large back yard too. Keep in mind that this house is over 100 years old and some areas show age but that adds to the charm we think. The basement is downright creepy though, ha ha! The location is also great as you are just a few minute walk from grocery stores, a liquor store and only a few more minutes to downtown. Many rent cottages on PEI and we have before but as everything is so close we found staying in town our best experience yet.
Though we loved the house, here are a few areas where the experience could be improved:
• More cooking pots and pans and supplies. There was only one small frying pan and a few smaller pots. (Though Nancy did get us a larger lobster pot when I asked for it). Also some basic things like pepper were empty.
• A welcome note with house details would have helped. There was no instructions left about things like internet passwords, the air conditioner operation(it didn't work, but the hose stayed cool with fans), where things were, how garbage recycling works on PEI etc. Though we figured it all out, it would have been nice to just have a document when we arrived with this information.
• Lastly, Nancy was very accommodating and nice and mostly very responsive, but a few times there would be gaps in here response time to us which left it up to us to follow up on things.
We would 100% recommend this house and use it again, the improvement points above were veery minor. Thanks Nancy!

The Nancy Willis Home Away rental worked extremely well for us, the home met all of our needs.
The property gave our family lots of space to either enjoy each other's company or private time on our own. The house was clean and beds were comfortable. We had off street parking that accommodated both of our vehicles. It's location made it easy to access stores, the downtown area and the wharf. Sobeys (large grocery store) was only a few blocks away. The backyard and porch were much appreciated since we had a family pet along with us. We were delighted to have the ability to use the washer/dryer but the steps going down to the basement were difficult.
We did a wildlife tour, enjoyed the Upstreet Brewery brews/food, and Tim Hortons, of course. Since the house is centered in Charlottetown we were able to take several day trip outings on the PEI.
My family grew up in a four corner home built in 1906 so we enjoyed this historical home's uniqueness.

Charming old-fashioned house, perfect for large families
House was lovely, centrally located, easy to find, exactly as described online. We had to accommodate 7 people, only one couple among them, and everybody found their own contented space and privacy. Our search shows only a handful of houses in or near Charlottetown that can hold this many persons. Gardens, upstairs screened in sunroom, shady back porch delightful surprises. Large kitchen, dining room, comfortable seating throughout, quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend, would stay here again.

Lovely house and amenities
We had a fantastic stay at this heritage house. It was clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Lots of living space for a larger family or group to spread out. Lovely bedrooms with comfortable beds; well equipped kitchen and large dining room. Nice private backyard and deck. Very close to everything you could want - walking distance to grocery store, restaurants, downtown, and other services. Owners were nearby and available if needed. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Perfect in so many ways, but...
We were looking to explore PEI while staying in Charlottetown with its good food and culture. After camping for several nights, a cozy house rental was just what we needed. This charming house was more than big enough for our family of 4 and the renovations and furnishings definitely met or exceeded our expectations.
The location is perhaps the best part, because you are literally walking distance to everything, in an interesting older neighborhood which is showing distinct signs of investment into the beautiful old houses as well as new condos.
The problem we had was sadly, with inattentive management. The owners were very nice people who lived 2 houses away which was convenient. The house was well cleaned, except that the entry porch smelled strongly of pet urine; so much so that we chose to use the back door. We arrived in a pouring rainstorm to find that the windows were all open with water coming in on the windy side. There was a large kitchen bowl of water on the floor, I suppose for a dog, and the back door was wide open with no screen. As PEI still has mosquitos this time of year, I was not particularly happy to be chasing them around the bedroom at night after several days of camping amongst them. Flies and moths needed to be chased down, and while the owner agreed to our request for a fly-swatter, she never followed through.
The gutters and downspouts were clogged with last years un-removed leaves, so there was a curtain of water cascading on our heads and bags as we unloaded our full van into the house. Deep puddles prevented using the back door. The once nice landscaped garden in front of the house is overgrown with weeds and the large trees need to be cut back away from the house.
Other small signs of neglect include:
Doors that don't close; common in old houses in summer but an easy fix.
Near empty propane tank in grill with no back-up tank on site.
Nice hardwood floor in bathroom is suffering water damage and needs refinishing.
I gave it 4 stars because despite the issues mentioned which were annoying, it really was the perfect house for us and looking back I have no regrets about staying there. I hope the owners can use this review to make some changes.
