Book the Eliza Suite - one bedroom main floor unit with kitchen, living room and bathroom. Sit out on the airy front porch shared with the Thomas Suite or enjoy the sunny backyard. You will be close to everything in this centrally located Charlottetown heritage house on the site of the old Pethick Brewery established circa 1820. Half a block from King's Square Park, a few hundred meters to a 24 hour convenience store, walk to all amenities downtown in 5 -10 minutes. Guests receive a full refund for cancellations 30+ days before check-in, 50% up to 15 days prior, and no refund within 14 days; a 4% processing fee is always non-refundable. One off -street parking spot available for this unit. Front, back and porch doors must be kept locked at all times. Sunken, creaky, cheap. It says there is a 2nd bed in a pullout, but the mattress of the pullout was so old the springs jut out and was extremely uncomfortable. There was no soap in the shower and the hand soap on the sink had clearly been diluted with water. The unit has a toaster oven but the thing smokes and will immediately set off the smoke alarm. Aug 3, 2025 Liked: Location Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy On a positive note, the location was excellent, close to everything. However, the property itself was very tired and in need of a refresh. During our stay, people staying upstairs left on Day 1 of their rental. We reported damage to 3 of 4 kitchen chairs which were unusable. They were not replaced during our stay so we couldn't sit at the kitchen table. The bathroom and kitchen both require major upgrades. Most furniture was really old, and not in a good way. In our opinion, this is a property we would not be able to recommend. To be fair, the pictures on the site were accurate, but didn't fully disclose the conditions we encountered in person. Oct 1, 2025 Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy Very disappointing. First impression was that the property was quite overgrown and did not appear to be well kept on the outside. Inside was like the pictures on the website, however, there were things that were less than ideal (no soap in the bathroom, stained coffee cups, etc) I rented the property from Friday to the following Thursday. On Saturday, I realized the shower did not work and notified the host. I was told someone would look at it, but no one came. On Sunday, I noticed wasps were in the house. After killing several Sunday afternoon/evening, I thought that was the end of it, but there were several more on Monday morning. I believe because workers were there scraping the shingles in preparation for painting, wasps that may have been nesting in the shingles were disturbed, causing the infestation. These conditions (no working shower and wasps) were unacceptable for a comfortable stay so I left early Monday morning and notified the host. I was told by the host that 'these issues don't prevent guests from enjoying the property'. I strongly disagreed with this statement and requested a refund. The host told me she was unable to offer a refund.With the help of VRBO Customer Support, I did eventually received a credit of 2 nights. This is definitely not a property I would recommend, and I regret that I did not read the previous reviews more closely. ##### Audrey B. Stayed 6 nights in Sep 2025 ### 6/10 Okay #### Sandra D. Aug 7, 2025 Disliked: Location, listing accuracy Our first impreession when pulling into the paking area was horrible. Paint falling off the siding, yard totally over grown with tall grass and weeds, hanging planter with dead plant and stairs that did not seem to be attached to the house. The front is terribly overgrown it can barely been seen from the road. The neighborhood,although appeared to be safe and we had no issue. On a very busy and noisy street It is a mixed neighborhood of commercial buinesses, and student housing all around the property. It is in a rundown neighborhood.The bathroom is small and clautrophobic,cramped bedroom as well. Most of the interior is dated, worn down and needs work. It was clean inside considering what the outside looked like.All in all it was close to the center of town providing for an easy walk. It was inexpensive compared to better units. What hit us first was 2 bath towels for 2 adults for 4 days. We had to request extra towels from the manager.This palce is not for everyone and I am generous by giving this a 3 star rating, it really is 2.5 at best. This place is not for everyone. We would not return.On a side note the last night before we left at 10:30 we were getting ready for bed and water started raining down from the ceiling onto the bed and floor. The tenants upstairs accidently let the kitchen sink over flow and down it came.
