What a truly lovely B&B with the owners James and Katherine being exceptionally helpful and very welcoming. The room was very quaint and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
James and Katherine were wonderful hosts. James helped us procure a parking spot right in front of the property. The room was at the top with nice beds, furniture, and decor. Our hosts provided delicious breakfast. Great stay while visiting family in nearby Crewkerne.
Overnight stay with our Grandson who is 4. Lively family room in the attic with its own bathroom. Very low ceilings throughout so tall people beware! Lovely warm welcome, comfortable beds, and delicious breakfast. Well worth staying here if visiting Chard.
We had a very enjoyable one-night stay at Ammonite Lodge. Both James and Katherine are very welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed a delicious home-made breakfast. James’ granola deserves a special mention!
Very friendly hosts, exceptional warmth and attention to detail. Very personal service nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good. Would highly recommend. Our stay was lovely thank you both.
The hosts were very kind and attentive. Our room was so quaint bright & clean. Breakfast was always prompt and served hot. If given the chance to return we’d like to stay again. Thank you for great memories.
James and Catherine were excellent hosts; organized, friendly, helpful. The property is old as one can see and the rooms are cosy in size but contain all the amenities one needs. The breakfasts are wonderful and food allergies are catered for. Dining options are within comfortable walking distance. Parking is on the street outside and should be available nearby. We had a most enjoyable stay.
Nice welcome when we first arrived, shown to our room which was clean and comfortable, however, the bathroom in room 5 was very small, with a toilet sounding like the ones on a plane, and not comfortable. Breakfast was good, with a good choice. Overall a nice place, but over the top with ornaments.
Could not have had a more pleasant stay.
A very warm welcome, escorted to the rooms and had everything explained.
Our rooms were spotless, adequately sized and with en suit.
The parking was limited but we had no issue after 1700 getting a space outside.
Breakfast was always out promptly at the time requested, the choice was plenty and quality was top.
For a small town there are a few eateries for dinner, if you choose to eat local.

Katherine and James are very friendly and thoughtful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were provided with all you could need including a multi usb charging plug, torch, hairdryer, kettle etc. such a nice comfy place to chill.
Great welcome here and well-equipped room. Very helpful and caring hosts make you feel "at home". Location is perfect ... on the edge of town, opposite the museum, and an easy walk to many restaurants and shops, including great fish and chips at Whites.
Room 3, however, is better for one than two, having limited space around the bed and a lock, unlock, lock, unlock precess to use the bathroom down the corridor. Bathroom is not serviced during visit. The "quilt" is unusually heavy and firm.
Good points were very friendly & welcoming, room was clean/tidy & cosy, breakfast was excellent.
Not so good was the road noise as we were at the front of the hotel and I guess it was a bit unavoidable.
