In addition to making us feel right at home, she was full of wonderful suggestions about how to explore Chania and the western side of Crete. The hotel is an old Venetian home that has been turned into 5 suites. The rooms were spacious while preserving the Venetian charm of the building. Right outside of the common area, a set of French double doors opens up onto the harbor and the hustle and bustle of the port below. Only 5 rooms in it. Clean, friendly staff. Great European breakfast with hardboiled eggs, baking, Greek yogurt with lots of toppings, fresh fruit salad, fresh squeezed orange juice and French pressed coffee. Very convenient area in the Old Town Chania area in the old Venetian port. Lots of restaurants. Most shopping was closed as not their busy time, 3rd week of March. Olga, the property manager was the main reason we always stay at this property. The morning breakfast is always excellent. And Olga has enormous knowledge about Crete - her recommendations about things to do are always on point. It is obvious that we will continue to stay at this property anytime that we are in Chania. Only stayed a night but location and the actual hotel were sensational. Only a boutique hotel with 5 rooms and we were treated like family from the moment we booked with emails, instructions etc etc. we were greeted by Yiota in the afternoon to check in and then met Olga in the morning for breakfast. Again we were treated like family and felt right at home. Next visit to Chania will definitely stay again. Although we originally intended on having a car, we did not bring one, probably just as well as I am pretty sure it would have been difficult to secure one close by. The hotel is seemingly in the middle of everything. But, you enjoy peace and quiet, an elegant breakfast, wonderful air conditioning for sleeping and the sense of being in a beautiful mansion on the sea. Having said all of this the most beautiful thing of all were the hotel ownership and staff who quickly after one conversation became friends. Before we could even ask for something, the staff immediately knew what we needed and had it in hand offering it to us. They were friendly, loving and ready to do absolutely anything to make our stay more comfortable and we’re happy. Absolutely the best! Perfect location, quiet- granted this is off season. Room (#2) and view were magnificent. Laundry service even tho really no staff on hand due to off season. My laptop fan went out and they tried to help me which was much appreciated. As solo traveler felt very safe and secure. Locked gate, locked hotel door and locked room. Balcony view of harbor freight as breathtaking. At night especially when it was all lit. Lighthouse is beautiful. Easy walking to shops and local market. Nikolai even walked me to restaurant around the corner where I ate great local home cooked more than once.
