It is now 20 years old and despite several branding changes (now VOCO an IIHG hotel) and a renovation, the service and remodel is substandard. The hotel claims it is a 5 star but the room service menu is a joke. The food is hust bad. And the inviting feeling to foreigners it once had with English speaking employees, currency exchange service, ann ATM on premises and a room service menu loaded with foreign options, there are much better options within a mile of this location including the Marriott Xinbei and the Sheraton. I was on a business trip with my wife. The room were spacious, neat and tidy, bedding was soft and comfortable- I was full day on meetings and tired on fallling on bed I got up In morning fresh and charged. The breakfast and dinner were lavish and taken care for every taste. My wife is Vegan. I was worried for her food but attentive service was given by their chef Mr. Pandey. He even cooked special vegetarian dish for him her. The buffet was grand. Good selection of sea food. Lobby has got bar and live music. We spent some time there as well. The girl singing has a melodious voice. I enjoyed dancing there. Reception staff and concierge staff were helpful from the time you get out of taxi. 👍 I will definitely stay there only always.
