When you hike up to Surprise and Amphitheater Lake, you have to leave the trail after about 5km and follow the cairns or better have a GPS device with you. (1,107 reviews) The power went out each night on us which caused our electrical medical device to turn off. There is no maintenance or front desk on call in the middle of the night and we had to wait until 7AM to get help. On top of this, the fridge also turned off, so the food went bad. We were then moved to another room where the hot water never got above Luke warm temperature, When we were able to get help, everyone was friendly and the service was fast. Overall, everything looks good on the surface but the bones of the rooms need updating.
