The castle was about 35 minutes away. We had 4 young children with us--aged 2 and below--and the house was very roomy! Gorgeous views and all the amenities we needed. Late in the evening step out and look up at the stars, OH MY GOODNESS! The lodge was perfect for our entire family. It’s spacious and very comfortable … we didn’t want to leave! I love to cook, and the fully-stocked kitchen made it so easy to prepare meals. By the way, you can purchase your staples at the nearby, new Ingles Market. And the large, round dining table, fabulous! The furnishings and artwork are extremely beautiful. The beds are vey comfortable, soft and cozy. If you love antiques, be sure to check out the Church of the Good Shepherd Bazaar Barn … you’ll need to reserve a U-Haul! Family Thanksgiving in Cashiers NC. 5 master bedroom house (each room King bed and private bathroom), 2 den areas, 2 kitchen areas. The main floor kitchen, somewhat small area for the size of the house, but well equipped; downstairs kitchen area is best described as a bar area with a small refrig. The den downstairs had plenty of seating for large groups or a place for kids to play. Each bedroom had TV with cable service. Nice fireplace on the main floor den. Deck area had plenty of seating but too cold for us to hang out there. Washer/Dryer and gas grill. Minutes away from Cashiers NC and about 30 minutes from Highlands NC. An Ingles grocery just a couple of blocks from the house. Great restaurants and shopping as well. Owner was accessible and communicated with me in advance of our arrival. The house had everything we needed, comfortable beds, very clean, all the pots and pans/utensils, and beautiful views!
