Summary: “Mary" is a fully updated 1940’s beach cottage in the heart of Carolina Beach with room for 8 guests, 6 adults and 2 children. She has all the modern amenities and is a short walk to Carolina Beach Boardwalk and the Lake, known for lively, summer music, restaurants, bars, shopping, fireworks, and carnival rides! Beach access is less than 50 steps out the front door and across a quiet, one-way street. Out the back door, stroll down the block to the Lake for the Saturday Market or a family movie. The Space: Mary's History During a destructive hurricane in the 1940’s this cottage floated to her present location, sitting on the lot upright and in one piece and from then on, Unsinkable Mary has been a beloved vacation home. The same family had owned this cottage for well over 50 years and it was the place of wonderful family celebrations and vacations. Many morning cups of coffee have been enjoyed on her front porch. Snoozes in the hammock, time spent playing at the beach, big southern-style suppers with family and friends and competitive card games going late into the night have all been part of life at Mary for several decades. We were fortunate enough to be able to purchase this wonderful beach house and after an extensive renovation, she is now available for everyone to enjoy and create their own memories. We have recently had a change in property management that resulted in the loss of the ability to show you the reviews Mary earned. They spoke of her closeness to the beach, her cleanliness, and how well-stocked she is. The great location for walking to food and attractions was also mentioned. Best of all, everyone has given our Unsinkable Mary 5 stars and we are grateful for every single one. You'll enjoy her easy access to the cottage with only 5 steps up to the large wrap-around porch. Enjoy using the propane grill and plenty of outdoor seating with a table for outdoor dining. The double front door opens to the original pine floors, shiplap walls and a large great room including a dedicated work space. The cottage features all new appliances including dishwasher, Keurig and drip coffee makers, toaster oven, microwave, motion sensor kitchen faucet, and washer and dryer. The main bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has two twin-extra-long beds that can be made into a king of desired (3rd bedroom has it's own tv). In addition, there is a twin-over-twin bunk in the pass through near the third bedroom (weight limit 175lb. per bed). Pleasure Island Properties Firm License #C10887 Guest Access: The cottage is located on a walkable, one-way street. Less than 50 steps will get you to the sun, sand, and ocean at the Beach access just across the street. The Boardwalk, with shopping, bars, restaurants and family activities for all ages is only about four blocks away. There you can also find a carnival, lots of live music and fireworks in the summer season. Located on a quiet street with ample, on-site parking for 4 vehicles. Only 5 steps up to a beautiful covered porch and the front door. Bike and golf cart rentals are available on the island, as well. Other Things to Note: Cleaning Fee includes all kitchen, bath, and beach towels provided as well as bed linens (beds made upon arrival) Dedicated work space Starter set of toiletries, condiments, coffee and tea Wifi and streaming services for the Smart TV in the living room There are also a limited number of beach chairs available at cottage (in the deck box) and local companies run chair services, as well. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ NO Smoking on the entire premises NO Pets May 21 to October 21 there is a seven night minimum.
