Your property Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. As if partial Atlantic views, crisp morning breezes, and pelicans floating in tandem overhead less than a few blocks away from Wilmington Beach wasn’t enough, a spiral staircase from the Master takes you up a final flight to a truly remarkable indoor/outdoor space complete with an array of outdoor seating and access to a tranquility and respite that will simply melt your cares into the sun-kissed seascape before you. It’s not IF you deserve this, it’s how quick can you visit! 1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! A sincere thanks for your help and we hope that YOU have an AMAZING ADVENTURE! 1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (\*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed! Guest access The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private HOME (never shared) along with a respective deck, patio, or balcony. PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (3) THREE assigned carport parking spaces (depending upon vehicle size). •Closest BEACH access: North Carolina Public Beach Access (North Carolina Ave). Interaction with guests I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another \*safety\* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :) Neighborhood description The home itself is just three short blocks from the nearest beach access. The property is a short drive from down town Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as charming down town Kure Beach. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning. Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhood offers an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Finishing on the Kure Beach Pier, Kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed. Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be a great time. And between the beach and Down Town Wilmington, boy do we have FOOD, Festivals, and good times! Getting around There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Rentals @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here! Carolina Beach The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces. PARKING RATES: \*(Parking rates are approved annually and are subject to change) March 1st - October 31st, 9AM - 8PM Parking Lots $ 6/hour or $25/day Premium Parking Lots $ 7/hour or $35/day Bus, Limo, and oversized vehicle $10/hour or $40/day On-Street Parking: Without Time Restrictions $ 5/hour With Time Restrictions $ 5/hour Weekly Parking Permits $100 Available for purchase at Town Hall, the Parking Office (open 7 days a week) and online. GOLF CARTS •To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. •ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. •There is a $150 non-refundable pet fee for up to two pups. There is a two-dog maximum unless an exception is granted. •April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher allows dogs on leash on the beach 24/7. The location of the property was great. Just a short walk to the beach. It was towards the end of a cul de sac without to much worry of thru traffic. The house also had enough space to comfortably accommodate our family of nine. The kitchen was good size and had most standard kitchen needs. However the icemaker did not work. Linens/ towels were provided. We did have an incorrectly marked sheet set given a queen size for a twin but were able to make it work. There were inconsistencies with bed sizes/ locations within the written description and under ROOMS & BEDS listing. The pictures provide the most accurate bed size and locations. The beds were comfortable. The living room couch and chairs have seen better days. Not sure if the highend description still fits but it was comfortable. The dining table and chairs were in need of replacement. Some of the chairs had been broken/repaired but were not very solid. Primary bath toilet seat was broken. Received a call from someone wanting to come out to replace but we were out for dinner and not comfortable with them entering with us not there since we had all our personal items out. We were able to make it through the weekend with just one incident of a pinched butt cheek. Wish there had been better seating on the porches.
