Welcome to Starfish Shack! More like a Chateau than a Shack, you can Sashay just 2 and a half blocks to the beach from our custom-built home in beautiful Carolina Beach. As soon as you hear the waves and experience the ocean breezes, you will want to kick off your shoes and go out on the deck with a cold beverage. Four stunning Bedrooms each have an Ensuite bath. Multiple decks give you the privacy you crave for the entire family, including your furry friends! You'll have plenty of space to come together for meals in our large, beautifully designed kitchen and our gracious open living area with comfortable furnishings. Kids and dogs alike will love the back yard and the short romp to the beach is sure to delight all!

Parking in garage for 2 cars, size dependent. Additional space for up to 2 vehicles in the driveway. Do not block the driveway entrance. Do not park on neighboring yards.  
  
Linens - Beds will be made with clean sheets, bath towels will be laying on the end of the beds, bathmats provided in each bathroom, kitchen towel and dish sponge provided. (Guest will need to make any trundle, sofa beds, or top bunks.)   
  
Rental Policies:  
  
In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.  
  
Things to bring:  
  
Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.  
  
Arrival/Departure:  
  
Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm  
  
Check-out is by 10 am.   
  
We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

No refunds will be issued for these closures.  
  
Pet Policy:  
  
Dogs Allowed - 2 Dogs Allowed MAX; Up to 60lbs only. The first dog is included in the price of the Rental. Subsequent dogs are subject to an additional payment! Carolina and Kure Beaches are pet-friendly, but you must follow town guidelines. Please check the town website for beach pet restrictions  
  
Cancellation Policy:  
  
We want to make sure you’re aware of our cancellation policy. If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

As one of North Carolina's most undeveloped beaches, the island offers a unique opportunity to see many diverse coastal wildlife, including pelicans and loggerhead sea turtles, in their natural habitat. Whether it’s exploring activities on the island, enjoying the ocean views, or enjoying a cocktail by sunset from your own private balcony, Pleasure Island offers diversion for every enthusiast!

Sea Coast Input: Parking may be limited during the summer months (public parking is available through Pleasure Island at an hourly rate).  
  
Carolina / Kure Beach is easily navigable once you're here. Our beach towns are very accessible and family friendly for vehicles, bikes and golf carts. Renting bikes and golf carts is a breeze with the many rental companies on the island. Advance reservations are recommended beach accessories. Escape the hustle and bustle of the beaches of Carolina/Kure Beach and explore the Carolina Beach state park and its’ many hiking trails. Or the Carolina Beach Greenway walking trail.   
  
Enjoy a day trip from Fort Fisher to Southport aboard the Southport Car Ferry, then wander through the town’s quaint streets filled with unique antique shops and restaurants!

We enjoyed our stay for a family reunion. The space was clean and new, spacious and light. Like some other reviews mentioned, it was light on cooking implements. I will say it lacks some personal touches, clearly a management company property. However it suited us we'll for our weeklong stay. In addition we had an issue with the elevator and they responded and took care of the issue within an hour on a Sunday. I was impressed with that. Also, great location, quiet and am easy one block walk to the beach. I would recommend the Starfish Shack.

#### Nice Find Close to the Beach 

Overall, very happy with our stay. We were disappointed that the property didn’t have a fenced in yard for our dog, since the photos made it look like it did. The rental also had very minimal basics in the kitchen. Otherwise, the walk to the beach was very convenient, and we were happy with the cleanliness/updates of a new construction.

We had a great time at Starfish shack. The house met our needs as a large family and gave us a place to be all together while also being spacious enough to have our own space. We would definitely go back!

#### Lovely beach hiuse

The house is clean and new furnishings. Lots of stairs with 4 levels, the elevator helped but also a little temperamental. We had our dog with us and thought the back yard was fenced in, it is not. There is a short 2 block walk to the beach, but also a public parking area directly across from the house Very nice house, would stay again.

#### Great location but ants need to be addressed ASAP.

Pros: Great location! 2 short blocks to Carolina Beach. Very nice house & accommodates 8 comfortably. Check-in and Check-out was easy. Cons: There were ants all over the house on the 1st floor. They were on the walls, counter tops, etc. While spraying for the ants since we brought RAID with us, we pulled the couch away from the wall and found trash. The TV remote to the 1st master king bedroom was missing. Garbage disposal didn't work. Trash bins were half full when we arrived, therefore we had to put trash in garage when we checked out since there wasn't any room left in bins. Dishwasher stopped working and started leaking the night before we checked out. The property managers took care of all of our concerns except the ants. Luckily, we brought RAID and sprayed. I would also suggest getting house exterminated and maybe labeling the remotes to the matching TVs and possibly the light switches. We enjoyed our stay despite the Cons but I wanted to leave an honest review.

Amazing property!! Easy to rent and worth the cost! Fun with the whole family, including pets! Looking forward to another stay!!
