The host tried to charge us additional cleaning fees after checkout—without our knowledge—for things that were already covered in the cleaning fee we paid upfront. They claimed there was sand in the hot tub (inevitable at a beachfront property, especially since we followed instructions to use the outdoor shower) and Cheetos on the floor, which was not the case as I did a walk-through before leaving.The property itself didn’t feel clean upon arrival. The floors were so dirty they turned our feet black, a downstairs comforter had what looked like pee stains, and the outdoor trash smelled so bad it carried into the house.
