It's a compact and easily walkable area. For travellers looking for an authentic and comfortable base, the village centre is ideal. You'll be close to the local market, where you can find fresh produce and handicrafts, and have direct access to local transportation for exploring the wider Loreto Region.

The best time to visit Capelo is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.During these months, you'll experience lower humidity and less rainfall, making it the most comfortable time for exploring the Amazon rainforest. The river levels are also lower, which can make jungle treks more accessible and wildlife viewing along the riverbanks more frequent as animals congregate around water sources. This period is ideal for couples looking for pleasant weather for their adventures. The shoulder months of April and November can also be good, offering a balance of fewer crowds and still relatively dry conditions. However, there's a slightly higher chance of rain.
