However, our stay was overshadowed by several issues that made it hard to fully enjoy. Despite selecting the “pay later” option, our payment was processed weeks in advance without any notice. The host was lovely to speak with, but had I not reached out, additional charges would have gone through without my knowledge. Parking was a major concern—only available on the council strip, which unfortunately led to damage to my car. While the furniture itself was stylish, cleanliness was lacking. The couch, comforter, and shower were noticeably dirty, and there were limited blankets with stiff, uncomfortable pool towels. Most concerning was that our room was accessed while we were out. It was really a nice place you looked at onto the pool. Very private very quiet and I can say the staff were absolutely lovely. The accommodation offers the bare minimum in comfort. The owner’s service was disappointing—one of them initially offered an extra set of towels for the beach but never followed through. The room was not properly cleaned, as I found crumbs of fried rice on the table. The bed pillows were of very cheap quality, and the extra set provided had rough, dirty pillowcases. The only positives were the pool and the location, which is conveniently close to the Palm Cove Esplanade.
