The Opuntia sul lago holiday home is an independent house completely surrounded by nature that offers hospitality services to groups of min. 2 and max 6 people, families and nature lovers.
The holiday home L'Opuntia sul lago is located in the territory of the municipality of Caccamo at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, inside the Natural Reserve of Pizzo Cane, Pizzo Trigna and Grotta Mazzamuto and near that of Monte San Calogero and offers a wonderful view of Lake Rosamarina.
The holiday home has been completely renovated recently and is the ideal place for those who want to enjoy a unique atmosphere in Sicily, unforgettable for anyone.
A few minutes by car you can reach the minimarket where you can taste fresh ricotta and other typical local products.
At about 7 km., In the town of Ventimiglia di Sicilia, you can find good meat from local farms, excellent biscuits, almond pastries and other food items.
From the vegetable garden to the kitchen according to our traditions, we love to share with our guests the simple and genuine things produced in our countryside.
On request we organize special activities and events such as preparing together with guests typical Sicilian dishes to be enjoyed under an olive tree or you can take off-road rides.
From the nearby hermitage of San Felice, many hiking activities can also begin that cross the resort and suggestive places that in all seasons can be appreciated and enjoyed in their natural beauty, beautiful colors, intense scents. The well-marked and signposted paths are passable on foot, by bike and on horseback.
It is also possible to visit the Medieval Castle of Caccamo, the Lanza Castle of Trabia and the Castle of San Nicola L’Arena.

#### EXCEPTIONAL
We spent a truly wonderful three weeks at L’Opuntia sul Lago in Sicily. Francesco was a very helpful host, responding promptly to our small number of queries. He came to maintain the swimming pool several times a week, and did an outstanding job, spending time ensuring that the pool was spotlessly clean and in excellent working order. The villa was precisely as described in the listing. The photographs in the listing did not illustrate fully just what a truly special place it is. The views from our bedroom balcony, from the living room window, and from the swimming pool terrace were truly spectacular, with astonishing sunrises over the mountains to the east, and with superb views across the valley to the lake. We had days lounging in the villa and in the pool, only going out for breakfast or evening gelati in Trabia or Caccamo or San Nicola l’Arena. We listened to birdsong and the tinkle of the bells around the necks of the goats nearby, and precious little else. We feasted on lemons and mulberries from trees in the garden. We had days travelling around northern, central, and western Sicily, visiting Palermo, Monreale, Cefalù, Erice, and many other places, as well as the astonishing historical sites at the Valle dei Templi at Agrigento and at Segesta near Calatafimi. We had superb gelati wherever we went. We were treated with great friendliness and kindness everywhere. If you want a little piece of paradise on earth, look no further than L'Opuntia sul Lago. Many thanks.

#### Toplocatie in rustige omgeving
Prachtig huis met zwembad, heel goede ontvangst. Kraaknet en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Rustige omgeving. Een aanrader!

#### Een geweldige plek om te verblijven!
De ontvangst was erg hartelijk! De eerste avond al een geweldig diner bereid door Graziella, een ware kookprinses! Prachtige omgeving, ook om direct vanuit huis te wandelen. Ruim en zeer verzorgd huis! Helaas moesten we eerder vertrekken door het Coronavirus. Het was heel fijn dat Francesco en Graziella hielpen om dat voor elkaar te krijgen. We zouden heel graag ooit weer terug willen komen voor een langer verblijf!
