There’s a mini fridge and microwave which came in handy, but no table to eat at. It’s a small room, but was good enough for me, my wife, and our dog for 3 nights. The ocean is just a few houses away, but there’s really no beachfront there (see photo). It is the first time we have been to Hatteras Island. The Gloria room fit our needs perfectly. We were able to be on the beach one day, do a little shop hopping in the rain, catch up with other wedding guests and celebrate the couple. A great trip. It was not at all what you see in the photos. We walked in to find a dirty, unsanitary, unsafe room. This place had hair on the sheets, toothpaste and spit on the bathroom mirror, dead flies on the floor, broken blinds which enabled anyone walking by to see right in, and a door lock which you could move with your bare hand. The property manager told us we shouldn’t have expected it to look like the photos posted on VRBO. She said,”I don’t know why he put those on there” when we showed her the photos. So far, the host has refused to issue a refund. We have reported this place to VRBO , the local chamber of commerce, and the board of health.
