If you are seeking a romantic getaway or simply a fun-filled countryside escape, the Roundhouse is ideal. From originally two windmills, or "post-mills", in Walsham Le Willows – this is the one remaining. Back in the days, peasants were obliged to grind their corn here, at the lord’s mill, paying for the service. Although they were not allowed to use their own mills, plenty of broken hand querns were found during field walking which is evidence that they broke the rules ;) It was demolished in 1917 after which the stones were driven by an oil engine. It was converted to electricity at a later date and continued milling flour until fairly recently. The Roundhouse still survives and has been beautifully restored to be used as a guesthouse. Through the entrance door, you enter an open-plan living area. If you are tall, mind your head as the original support beam is quite low in the center. Snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of red or hot cup of tea or coffee and get warm in front of the woodfire. Or head upstairs into the open-plan bedroom to relax after enjoying one of the many walks around Walsham. For groups of 3 or more people, the sofa extends to a comfy sofabed. Parking is conveniently available right outside the Roundhouse. We aim to greet all our guests in person and show you around the Roundhouse. If you prefer minimal/no interaction we are more than happy to make arrangements. We will always be just a phone call or message away throughout your stay and live right next to the Roundhouse. The Roundhouse is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, away from any traffic towards the Northern end of Walsham Le Willows. It has four neighboring, although at a distance, properties, one of which is our house. It is only a short walk, either over the fields or through the charming village, to the brilliant village shop or one of the two village pubs. The Roundhouse is surrounded by amazing, picturesque walks, especially during sunset or sunrise. Ideal for those who bring their furry family members. Walsham Le Willows itself is a short drive from local market towns such as Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Diss. No shoes on carpets and upstairs, please Whilst we welcome pets, please ensure your pooches are not on the couch, chair or bed. Please do not park on the green strip next to the Roundhouse or use it for the toilet needs of your pet(s). There are fields and green areas less than 2 minutes away. The green strip belongs to our neighbours and is well looked after. When leaving ensure heaters, lights and hot water storage are turned off and all windows are closed. also make sure there is no fire going in the wood burner. ## Commodités de l’hébergement ### Internet -
