In the 1800's fishing was conducted from this natural inlet and this is also where the famous painting 'Home With The Tide' was painted by James Clarke Hook, which currently hangs in the Tate Gallery. The house provides the perfect place for relaxation and unwinding. Spend some time wandering through the historic fishing streets and walk along to the marina to watch it's creel and pleasure boats, then amble up to the cliff tops to take in the panoramic views or even a spot of dolphin watching! Findochty is a very photogenic village, so I was out and about taking photos at all hours! On our arrival we were welcomed by dolphins frolicking in the sea in front of the cottage.
