Click on the VIDEO box (next to photos) to get a drone experience of "Under his wings" From one of the many boat docks, you can charter a day long deep sea fishing adventure or spend an afternoon on a Rogue River Jet Boat excursion. Less than a half an hour away, you can explore the famed Redwood National Park in all of its stunning and unique beauty. Your backyard is paradise on The Winchuck River. Literally, you can watch the river go up and down with the tide. That's how close to the mouth of the Ocean you are. It's a great family gathering, huge open kitchen, fish in your back yard, pole holders, fish cleaning station, row up the river or down to the beach, kayak rentals a few miles away, walk to beach, Redwood trails a few miles away, beautiful weather (usually no wind or fog like in Cresent City and Gold Beach), Crabbing, deep sea or river fishing. There is an easy bike pass nearby to peddle into town, or drive just minutes to the harbor. When you're ready to relax, your backyard has a 6 person hot tub right on the river bank, meyer lemon trees and apple trees in a secluded park-like setting, complete with an outside shower for walking back from the beach. If inside is more your speed, you can enjoy the smart TV and watch your favorite movies, cozing up in a nook with a great book, or socializing and cooking in the kitchen. Pets are happily considered with $25 pet fee. There is a second 1/1 river front rental on the west side of the property, if interested in adding on to your stay for additional cost. The house and the river front cabin share the same entrance but split off to separate parking areas. It is less than 15 feet from the water so adults only. It also might already be rented during your stay. Across the road (101) the Oregon Visit Centre and Crissy Field State Recreation is a must to explore. The house was clean but needed a little maintenance but over all great! If you are looking for a fancy all brand new crisp furnishings this is not your place but if you are looking for a homey comfortable lived in animal friendly place to take your family and dogs for vaction it is perfect! It is right on the water so dogs and small children need to be watched! The fire pit is great right next to the water! The sliding glass door was so tough to shut and open. The main bedroom had a missing door to the bathroom and panel in the shower. The deck was held up by jacks. The 4th bedroom did not have a Murphy bed it was a folding bed and was just a partian door off the kitchen which was missing hinges. The 3rd bedroom walls doesnt go up to the celing. And we could hear everything out in the kitchen it was not at all private. The website description was very miss leading. Had we not been 8 hours away from home we would have just left. The host did not communicate at all, the grill ignitor was broken and wasnt told how to start till i texted them. ive stayed in many vrbo and this was very disappointing. They do not put any money back into the property.. oh and the outside garbage was already full when we got there. aanso.htthgwprivate as the walls are paper thin. ##### Heidi P. The house was really cute and right off the highway. It is right on the river which made it great for the guys to fish from! The hot tub on the deck was amazing! The only critiques I would have are the check-in/check-out times, the listing said check-in was 3, but when our friends got to the house at 3:30 the owners were still there cleaning and said check-in was actually at 4\. Also, check-out is 10, which felt a little early only because not much in town opens til 11 so we had to kill time and wait for stuff to open. Overall, it was a fantastic home and we would definitely stay again! ##### Brittany K. When I woke up in the morning to a beautiful Brookings day, I was excited to find citrus trees in bloom (in February!), Camellias, and Azaleas. The deck is amazing and literally a stones throw to the river. The home is very comfortable and views of the river from living room and den are great. The beds are very comfortable and we slept well. We enjoyed the fire pit and of course we had to make s’mores. In this Covid era we were in need of respite from work and home. This was wonderful!! I would definitely recommend this place to families and friends. This would be a beautiful place for a small wedding ceremony with the river as your backdrop. ##### Juli F.
