For the summer months, we have a huge jacuzzi that can be set to cold and depending on the weather and a running creek at the back of the property to splash around in! In winter months we have an indoor fireplace and an amazing outdoor firepit and all wood is provided.

Welcome to Hunter Moon! We are proud to introduce to you a unique property; an amazing home where guests can relax in comfort and luxury. We strive to ensure that each and every guest enjoys an experience beyond his or her expectations.

Located in beautiful Broke Fordwich in the Hunter Valley, this spectacular peaceful 25 acre property offers an eight bedroom and six bathroom luxurious Country House with a magnificent backdrop of the Brokenback Mountain range and vineyards. Hunter Moon is minutes from the village of Broke and a 5 minute drive to 11 of the best cellar doors in the Hunter Valley and 3 fabulous restaurants - including the award winning Margan cellar door and restaurant and amazing and a short 15 minute drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens.

As you enter the circular driveway, you are greeted by this stunning Country House with beautiful gardens, fabulous rotunda and views to mountains and paddocks. Hunter Moon looks over a tranquil dam full of water lilies, wildlife and a sensory garden full of gorgeous plants. The heavenly smell of roses, lavender, gardenias, oranges, mandarins, cumquats and rosemary immediately relaxes you as you enter this special space.

Hunter Moon has been created with larger groups in mind and nothing has been left to chance. The quality finishes and high ceilings give the house a feeling of great space. The house has been stylishly furnished with many original and unique pieces from around the world.

Hunter Moon boasts a modern fully equipped kitchen and multiple internal and external dining options, a large fireplace, ducted air-conditioning, WIFI, Chromecast, Foxtel and Xbox. The icing on the cake is a huge 10 person spa that can be set to hot or cold, and a spacious deck with a large lawn area for games, yoga or cricket.

Hunter Moon will accommodate up to 22 guests across 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, one of which has a fully disabled bathroom. The media room can be converted to a ninth bedroom if required.

The property backs onto Wollombi Creek, where you can cast a line or paddle around. There is a large dam overlooking the property with a variety of wildlife and bird activity. You'll often find horses, kangaroos, wombats and a mix of wildlife on the property.
All your entertainment needs are covered with WIFI, Foxtel, Xbox, Books, DVD’s and Chromecast for all your streaming services such as Netflix, Stan, Prime etc- all by a wonderful fireplace.

MORE INFORMATION
The indoor dining area can be set up to accommodate 20 at the table and 22 on the deck. There is a large BBQ area with an outdoor bar fridge and a 6 burner stainless steel barbecue + flat top barbecue. The kitchen has a stand alone 90cm cooktop and oven, 2 fridge/freezers, one with filtered water and ice, a third one on the deck for your drinks, 2 dishwashers, large crock pot, microwave, juicer, NutriBullet, blender, sandwich press machine, fully automated coffee machine with extra beans supplied, kettle, large toaster, rice cooker plus complete utensils, servers, bowls and everything you would need to cook up a storm for a large crowd. There is a washing machine and dryer too!

DOGS
We will allow small dogs or well behaved dogs onto the property. There is a $30 charge per dog (max 2) No puppies allowed.

Just a couple of things you need to know and this is more a disclaimer on our part.

We face an open dam which sometimes has kangaroos -- dogs and kangaroos do not mix well. Also there can be the occasional snake, particularly in the summer months just for your info.

The driveway goes onto an open road where there is a part that is not fenced. There is no fence down to the paddock and creek, so may not be ideal if your dog likes to roam.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
We provide tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper. We also provide cling wrap, foil and baking paper, paper towels, dishwashing tabs, washing up liquid, spray and wipe, laundry detergent, scrubs, tea towels and a medical kit. We provide toilet paper, artisan shampoo, conditioner and body wash in each bathroom plus a hairdryer. Hand Sanitisers at entrance points.

In addition, all our bedding is commercially laundered to high temperatures. We provide paper towels for hand-washing in each bathroom, and individual tissues and soaps. As well as 1 towel per person.
You will receive complimentary wine, olive oil and artisan soaps from the area.

LOCATION
Around a two hour journey from Sydney and just over 60 minutes from Newcastle, the Broke Fordwich area is in the southwest corner of the mid Hunter Valley. Sitting between Pokolbin and Wollombi, Broke played a critical role in the development and history of NSW.

Next door to boutique vineyards and near the olive farms of Broke, 10 minutes to the heart of Pokolbin for the best wine tasting and restaurants in NSW. For the golf enthusiasts, two of the best and most challenging golf courses in Australia (the Vintage and Cypress Lakes). Also near great Wedding Venues such as Adams Peak , Starline Alpacas and Margan..
Broke Village stands at the base of the Brokenback and Hunter Ranges on the Wollombi Brook. The massive Yellow Rock escarpment stands guard above. The Ranges shelter Broke Fordwich from much of the rainfall that the surrounding districts receive. The area has a sandy loam with river flat alluvial soil, volcanic soil and pockets of red basalt giving wine producers a variety of soil types known as terra rossa.

Today, more than a quarter of the Hunter’s wine grape production now comes from the area and Broke Fordwich wines are winning more than their fair share of national and international awards.

Importantly, Broke Fordwich retains it’s integrity as a rural community remaining free of large scale development, yet offering first class B&B and self catering accommodation, restaurants and activities. Visitors to the area are surprised by the amount of wildlife they see.

Amazing Wedding Weekend
We had a small intimate wedding weekend at the property. The landscape and scenery was simply picturesque. Luckily it didn’t rain during our stay but we had to have our ceremony on the deck as the ground was soaked and muddy. Our group had the chance to stay in the Hunter Moon and it was nothing short of amazing! The property is very spacious and there are so many activities in the house. We had so much fun in the spa, playing table tennis and badminton. Also in close proximity to the house are wineries, some of which we visited. The BBQ also came in handy on our second night as well as we cooked a feast! As for each of the rooms, they were mostly clean and very comfortable. Finally, our host Collette was quick to respond to all of our questions and was extremely hospitable, making our super smooth sailing. The only suggestion I'd give would be to add a Chromecast device in the entertainment room (very cheap and useful for streaming services) but otherwise everything was great :D! Thank you Colette!

What an incredible property! Colette and Mark have created the most amazing group accommodation option. The little touches (white boards for names on doors, separate private seating areas) were so great but the group activities/games and fire pit were the most popular with the spa! My 30th Birthday in Broke
We stayed at this property with a group of 20 to celebrate my 30th. Hunter Moon Country House was perfect! We all had plenty of space for sleeping and the layout of the house made it a dream of entertaining! We had a long lunch on the back deck which was already set up and decorated for us. The back lawn area was perfect to run around and play games which were provided my Colette and Mick. The spa was great in the evenings and we even managed to cool it down during the day as it was a very warm weekend. I would highly recommend the Hunter Moon Country House, Broke as an area and Colette and Mick as hosts. We will be back and encourage everyone to check this place out :)

Extensively equip kitchen, high end bedding and ensuites in half the rooms made our stay incredibly luxe. The hot tub was a hit with all adults and children alike. Communication and service from Colette and Mike is more than you would experience from a high end hotel in town. We would return to stay here in a heartbeat.

The perfect spot for a weekend away.
The property is perfect for large groups. The rooms are tidy and styled for any individual. The area is quiet, secluded and serene. I highly recommend this for a birthday or couple retreat. The hosts were top notch and very easy to communicate with. I'm definitely considering coming back next year with my partner. Overall 10/10 experience.
