Canoe/Kayaks/PaddleBoard Wake up on Long Lake to spectacular sun rises and the serenading of loons. This charming cottage faces East and sits directly across the water from the village of Harrison. Borrow one of two kayaks or the paddle board and head to Harrison for a meal or ice cream. This cozy cottage is 800 square feet and includes a balcony overlooking the water and 2 air-conditioned bedrooms and laundry room on the lower level. The upper level (where you enter) is an open-floor layout with a sofa and a futon that sleeps two. The well-stocked kitchen includes a dishwasher. Bring or rent a boat and tie it up to the dock for the week. Looking for an all-day boating adventure? Leave the dock and boat to Frye Island in Sebago Lake through the Songo Lock...one of the last manual locks in the country. Long Lake connects to Brady Pond, Crooked River, the Lock, and then Sebago Lake and Frye Island. A highlight for any boater in the Lakes Region! Or stay in Long Lake and enjoy 11 miles of lake. Swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding...so many choices! Yard and dock is shared with the owner but unless she's heading out on her pontoon boat or taking a 5 minute dip after a run, you'll have the yard/dock to yourself during your stay. The town of Bridgton is 3 1/2 miles away and is the quintessential small town with great restaurants, a book store, gift shops, an art gallery, movie theater, grocery store, nail salon, pharmacy and more. And don't miss the drive-in movie theater! Hawk Mountain overlooking Long Lake is an easy 20 minute hike with gorgeous views, including Mount Washington! Hawk Mountain is a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The owner lives next door and can easily provide support if any issues arise. Upon arrival we could see hummingbirds and other songbirds flying past the deck. The house was perfect for our family and the use of the kayaks and paddleboards were a major plus with my kids. The owners go above and beyond for anything we needed and were so very kind. The house is located a few mins away from everything you could need. It was fully stocked and we had everything we needed for a peacefully getaway, nice fluffy towels, appliances, coffee, hot cocoa, A/C, etc. The grounds were beautiful groomed, loved the garden which attracted many butterflies. It was not dirty, but obviously has a moisture problem. The entire cabin smells like mildew. The yard to lake feels like a bog it’s soggy and they are in a drought. There is a dehumidifier in the basement that needed to be emptied daily due to moisture. The view of the lake is blocked by trees and an over grow weedy garden. We left early because the mildew smell was causing our daughter some allergy issues. It was not all bad, but honestly not what we had hoped for. This property and location are just perfect. Julia, the owner and host, is so warm and welcoming and genuinely excited to share her beautiful property. This is a terrific spot to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet, with still plenty to do close by and on property. I cannot recommend this place enough! ##### Ann M. We wanted somewhere close to the mountain for skiing, but also where we could ice skate and ice fish. This couldn't have been more perfect. The location and cottage are perfect, and Long Lake is beautiful. Julia is an amazing and very thoughtful host. She knows exactly what a family needs to enjoy a lake front cottage vacation and provides it all and more. It was great having her right next door. We chatted with her at least once a day, and it seemed like she was an old friend who we had known for years. We spent the entire week on the water swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, and tubing. The huge smiles on our kids faces when they got to go tubing for the first time was priceless. When our week was over, our kids did not want to leave and told us they want to come back to Julia's cottage every year. It really was the best family vacation ever. We got to relax and recharge while spending lots of quality time together as a family making memories that will last a lifetime. We will definitely be back. ##### Robert C. We absolutely loved everything about this property. Loved taking our little boat across the lake for lunch. Lots of hiking trails in the area to explore. Julia, the owner, is so sweet and helpful. A wonderful cottage in excellent condition, spotlessly clean. Our host had thought out every need for a stay and provided for it. The property is excellent with a nice yard on the lakeshore, sandy area for kids to swim, large accessible dock and a great fire pit. The host living right next door is a major plus - she is very welcoming and helpful throughout the stay, but still manages to make the rental very private. The cottage itself is well fitted out and very comfortable. Our family of four also made use of the living area futon as a third bedroom and it worked great. Both nearby towns offer fun for rainy days and the lake is beautiful. A wonderful place for a week away! ##### Dustin B. This little cottage had everything we needed including the s’mores kit, which was such a nice touch. The inside was super clean and comfortable. Long Lake is wonderful with beautiful clear water. My son enjoyed fishing right from the dock. Julia is a great hostess, right there if you need anything but not intrusive at all. Thank you for such a memorable vacation. ##### paula m. The house is super clean and had everything- linens, extra towels, first aid kit (which we used when my son got a cut), s’mores kit for the fire pit, the laundry room (kids got wet every chance they got). We rented a boat at Gateway and the dock was great, and the kids just liked swimming around the dock area. Kayaking to ice cream was also so fun. We had great weather and we’re grateful for the A/C at night. Judy pointed us to Restaurants and they were great. She was there when we needed something, but we also had tons of privacy and enjoyed being outside in the yard and sitting on the lake. The yard also looks amazing with new landscaping. Clean, with new utilities wifi, tv, oven dishwasher and grill. Back yard leads with fire pit leads to dock and lake. 2 kayaks included. Owner lives next door and super helpful. Lake is gorgous. There is some boat traffic, but not bad. Plenty of wild live, short drive to Harrison, Bridgeton and Naples.
