  • Welcome to Happy Acres! This beautiful and well-maintained cabin sits on a knoll overlooking a nice stream with a pleasant waterfall. The surrounding grounds are landscaped with native plants and there are many places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. This property is surrounded by a forest of old growth deciduous trees--it will show spectacular fall color that you can enjoy from your porch.
    The master bedroom is on the main floor with a private bathroom. Upstairs are two comfortable bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a full-size bed, that share a full bathroom. There is additional sleeping on the trundle day bed in the loft area that opens to a queen-size bed.
    The wood accents and some of the furnishings and flooring were made from trees that grew on the property!
    The property adjoins the Headwaters State Forest. This state forest is part of a project intended to extend from Table Rock in South Carolina through Caeser's Head, Dupont and Gorges State Parks. Lots of room for exploring, biking and hiking. Enjoy wading in the stream or just relaxing in the nearby swing. No need to leave the property--plenty of wildlife and beautiful surroundings to appreciate.
    But when you are ready to explore the area, you will find that we are at the center of great things to do! Dupont State Forest with its magnificent waterfalls, horse, biking and hiking trails is just down the road. Brevard is only about 8 miles away with shopping, arts and crafts, and great restaurants! Go the other direction and enjoy the day in Hendersonville, or travel a bit farther to Asheville. Other parks in the vicinity include Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park, Caesar's Head, and Headwaters State Recreation Area--all the hiking you want with lots of scenic waterfalls and overlooks. Access the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in some spectacular scenery. Be sure to go and see the Pretty Place Chapel while you are here, or walk to the top of Sassafras Mountain, the highest peak in South Carolina; both only a short drive from the house. Happy Acres is just a few miles from the East Fork of the French Broad River--known for excellent trout fishing!

The property was clean and well cared for. Hosts communicated well. I appreciated how well-stocked the place was—it seems like they put a lot of thought into items guests might need.Our kids loved playing in the small creek and waterfall off the back porch. It’s also in a beautiful area, with several nice waterfall hikes in nearby DuPont and Pisgah.

Immersed in nature! Lovely home with wide porch to read, listen to the birds, or wait out the rain. Anywhere you are on the property, there is the ever present babble of the creek. The home is fully stocked, and I mean fully stocked. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well laid out and stocked with all you need. Incredibly convenient to Brevard, DuPont, and even the Parkway. We are already planning another trip to this lovely spot.

We had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving at this beautiful home! The setting was quiet and private, and the sound of the stream and waterfall was perfect for porch-sitting. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a delicious Thanksgiving meal. We absolutely would stay again!

The place is comfortable and very private. The completely wooded property is beautiful. The kitchen is nicely set up with anything you could want for fixing meals. There's lots of seating for larger families. Bedrooms are separated for privacy. It has all of the comforts of home.

Stayed at this house 4-5 times now. Love the location in brevard. Very comfortable house and the small waterfall adds a calmness to the property.

The home was a great location for our extended family traveling to the area. The owner was extremely helpful as well. The home had plenty of room and beautiful surroundings and the kitchen was great for hosting an extended family gathering.

We had a great time at this lovely home. The sound of the creek/waterfall from the porch is amazing, although the path down to the creek was steep and very slippery (it did recently rain) we were able to take the driveway down instead but had to walk through deep mud to get to the water fall, so be careful with littles, the water is COLD! The house was clean, well stocked, cozy, and the beds were comfortable! The only negative thing I could say is that the outside could use a good clean up but I know the area was affected from hurricane Helene so it is understandable. The property was still absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely come back, Brevard is a cute little town! Caesars overlook which was about 20 minutes away is beautiful! Keep an eye out for the white eastern grey squirrels, we saw two and there were lots of deer in the neighborhood at dusk. Thanks for a great weekend!

Tucked Away

This house is tucked away into a nice wooded lot with room to roam and the peaceful sound of the stream below. Plenty of places to relax and hangout with loved ones .. on the porches, by the stream, by the firepit, playing games at the large table, or watching tv. Great location.. easy drive to parks, waterfalls, Pretty Place, and Brevard.. such an enjoyable time!
