Elk Meadow Lodge is a gorgeous 2-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom premium log home that’s perfect for families or small groups. It’s just a short 7-minute drive from downtown Breckenridge and the slopes and affords you unparalleled privacy and incredible views. Inside, the main living area has two seating areas with comfortable furniture, a beautiful river rock gas fireplace, and a large flat-screen TV. Upstairs, you’ll find the second living area with a pool table, poker table, kid’s toys, and a huge flat-screen TV. The third living area is in the private downstairs suite that’s a perfect place for a couple’s private space. Outside, you’ll find an expansive wrap around deck with lots of comfortable furniture, a gas grill, and your own private hot tub. The kitchen is just off the main living area and features granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, a dining room table that seats six, and everything you need to whip up a culinary masterpiece. There’s also a two-car heated garage, boot drier, and a full laundry area. And like every Summit Mountain Rentals property, the home comes stocked with plenty of linens, towels and hotel-like toiletries, and it’s professionally cleaned and inspected before each arrival. Our kids and grandkids began every morning with a hot tub session on the impressive deck area before heading off to nearby biking and hiking trails. My wife and I would then get a book and head to the deck area until the kids return. If not reading, we were wildlife watching. There was an abundance of chipmunks, humminbirds and even an occasional fox sighting. When not outside, the grandkids (8 and 5) enjoyed the game room immensely. The weather was wonderful and we were able to have many of our meals on the deck next to the bbq!! The setting is rural but access to Breckenridge or Frisco is only 10-15 minutes. The Breckenridge Golf Course is only about 1 mile away. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Breckenridge and 20 minutes from Frisco. The place had everything you could ever need (except bring your own coffee) for the whole family - we were there with a newborn, a five-year-old (who loved the arcade games, and teenagers who loved the pool table. We were there in January with lots of snow, and you definitely need a 4WD to get up the driveway. The communication from the property manager was excellent. Plenty of space to spread out, gorgeous views and an awesome sledding hill. Our kids enjoyed having all the extra snow gear there (sleds, snow shoes etc) as well as the play area upstairs. We also really enjoyed sitting in the hot tub while it snowed. I was also surprised to find two rooms in the upstairs with two sets of bunks in each room. Based on pictures, it looked like one room with 2 sets of bunks. Town is close by less than 10 min, walmart is 15\. However, really no need to leave cabin kids played in snow right in back yard. The garage has sleds for them which was great! Beautiful log cabin with amazing deck for morning coffee or nighttime stargazing. Six adults and a two year old. Plenty of room and privacy for everyone. ##### Tom M. The deck is incredible. Highly recommend this property if you want to get away and have some privacy with the access to everything the area has to offer. You really do need a 4 wheel drive if it's snowing or raining as you have to go up a private dirt road to the property. It is also notably dry in the home. They have humidifiers scattered around the house (some working, some not). The showers aren't the best, but they get the job done with plenty of hot water. The internet is not the fastest, but it also gets the job done, including streaming. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would love to come and stay here again or with any homes hosted by Summit Mountain Rentals. ##### Dave S.
