This comfortable family cottage situated on Walloon Lake is an original log cabin masterpiece on a spacious parcel of land. Offering just over 3 acres and 246 feet of private beach frontage makes renting on Walloon Lake even more relaxing! Enjoy hard-packed, sandy bottom lakefront with plenty of space for yard games and family gatherings! Parking is perched at the top of the sloped hill and the staircases on either side of the cottage will lead you down towards the entrance to the home or to the grassy front yard and waterfront. Upon entering the side door, you will find the original kitchen full of character, where many family meals and traditions have been made. This space is complete with a small sitting area with a TV as well. Off the back of the kitchen is a full bathroom and one bedroom, which could be considered more as the “primary,” although the full bathroom services the kitchen area as well. Our favorite part is stepping through the swing door from the kitchen onto the platform staircase that overlooks the massive great room with a stone fireplace, a mini bar area to pull up a stool, and large windows overlooking the lake. A great place for conversations, games, puzzles, and drinks! Taking the opposite stairs and swing door to the other wing of the cottage you will find the guest rooms. You must walk through a bedroom to get to another one; however, all bedrooms have an outside door available, which offers private entrances to the courtyard or outside deck to enjoy morning coffee and not disturb others. Spending time on the lake includes many hours on the spacious front porch. While the cottage does not include air conditioning, we provide box fans, and some of the screened windows welcome in lake breezes to help keep things cool during the warmer months. This well-loved cottage has a picturesque setting that has created many old memories and blessings on the lake - As the plaque on the fireplace states, “Who Enters Here With Good Intent, Shall Go Fourth With Blessings Sent.” \*Access to water toys and boats are not included in the rental of this property. Although it was spacious, we were disappointed with the condition of the house and furnishings for the premium price. The dock was very nice. The management company was great about responding when the fuses blew and sent a company to clean the porch so we could use it. It has a large lake front property with a large dock. There is not much of a sandy beach but the water around the dock is very shallow with a sandy bottom. The kitchen has all necessary cooking utensils and plenty of room as indicated in the overall description. The towels and linens are very nice and there are plenty of beach towels as well. Vacations properties was very responsive and answered all questions and solved issues as they arose. Our point of contact, Danielle, was extremely helpful and pleasant to work with.
