Beautiful Lakefront Home with Private Beach

Rustic lakefront home ideally located for exploring historic New England. The house is at the end of a private road on a 1 acre wooded lot. The house is on a wooded peninsula and surrounded by water on three sides. Most rooms include water views. There is a sandy beach that includes a dock. The gradual slope of the beach is ideal for young children. The house sleeps 8 in bedrooms and has a queen sofa bed in the living room. There is easy access to Boston via car or public transportation. The house features a spacious great room with gas fireplace, large dining room and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen.

Summer and Fall are excellent times of year to enjoy swimming in the lake or relaxing and enjoying the reflection of the fall foliage in the pond. In winter there is easy access to trails for cross country skiing. Downhill skiing & snowboarding is available at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area which is a scenic 30-minute drive. New England Sport Center is a short drive down 290. The house is also convenient to the many colleges and medical facilities in the Worcester area.

Please note this is a multi-level house. There is a flight of stairs to get to the main level and a small number of steps between areas within the house. If you have mobility issues this would not be a good fit for you.

Debra was a gracious host and a wonderful communicator. Had a small issue with house due to weather. She had the handyman on site to address within an hour and all was good. Big house. Big kitchen. Quiet area. Heat and hot water no issues during very cold weather. Snow was plowed promptly as well. Would recommend

The location was very private and peaceful. There was an area downstairs for hanging out together, playing pool, or just watching a movie. Upstairs our group of 5 adults and 3 kids were able to eat together in the dinning room or lounge in the living room, talking, reading, or working on the puzzle we brought. There are some items on shelves and in cabinets that seem breakable, so maybe be aware of that if traveling with small children or pets.

The space was perfect. Beautifully located on a small lake. The power went out on our first night but it came back quickly. The kitchen was well stocked but there were no supplies in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, etc). Debra was very prompt in getting back to me. Very nice property

Everything about our family's stay exceeded expectations! Plenty of room for the whole family, very well equipped kitchen as well as the outdoor grill option. Out 1 yr. old granddaughter loved the toy box and we loved the baby gate. Everyone including the dog loved the private beach. We brought kayaks and enjoyed paddling on the pond. Were pleased to find so much to do nearby as well.

Perfect Spit

3 generation family a dog. While the pond was a bit muddy (this its nickname) the kids and dog swam from sun up to down. The beach, seating area, dock, fire pits were all perfect.The house fit our needs. The family bedroom was a plus for extra space and bedrooms were huge. We asked for access to the rowboat on site which we rented and was easy to do. Probably wouldn’t bother next time as we rarely used.Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Lovely Vacation in a Beautiful Location

I stayed at this property for a week with my siblings and in-law. There were four adults all together, and we all had a great time.One of the excellent features of this place is the location on Newton Pond. It's a large piece of property surrounded on three sides by water. There were a few levels to the land, which made it great for gathering outside while still having privacy. The water was great for swimming. We didn't have any issues with obtrusive weeds in the water. If you've ever gone swimming in a freshwater pond, you'll know what to expect.There were a few very hot days during our trip. There isn't central air conditioning, and there's no air conditioning in the kitchen or main rooms. However, I can verify that all three bedrooms have working wall-unit air conditioners. They're older models, so the controls might be unfamiliar. However, they definitely work. I was very comfortable sleeping in my bedroom.The main room of the house is beautiful, and there's a small TV in there, which we hooked up to our laptop via HDMI to watch streaming channels. There's a large new TV in the basement with lots of streaming options. That room doesn't have AC, so it can get humid and a little musty there. However, that's what it's like when you have a basement in a wooded area. We didn't spend much time indoors during the day anyways.We loved our stay there. Swimming was a big component for us, and we weren't disappointed. We swam pretty much all day. It was very nice.

Great vacation week at this house. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is huge. It was great having air conditioning. The property was beautiful, nice and shady, and we were able to do a lot of fishing, kayaking and swimming by the dock.

So much potential...

The house is very spacious, so there was more than enough space for our group.. The location was great in terms of the private beach. It's just that the beach and dock were covered in goose poop and some feathers. The outside of the house look like it needs some cleaning to remove yard debris and mildew. Additionally the only AC in my bedroom didn't, was just a fan. It was just disappointing. This location has so much potential. It just needs some attention for it to be an ideal vacation spot.

Beautiful home and property. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Had all the conveniences of home. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. Sitting down by the lake was so peaceful! Boston Marathon Stay

Beautiful house and grounds! Very private with lots of room along with homey touches. Kids loved the toy cabinet and the pool table. Easy access to Boston. We thoroughly enjoyed our Easter weekend there!

Lake House

Quiet location very private end of the road on a peninsula with a lake on three sides. Would probably be a great summer destination.Carpeting is outdated as is the bed linens. We had the rewash a couple of our bed linens because there was hair in the bed. Old stained pillows. One set was a bit worn, and I had to borrow a queen size set for my daughter who lives locally.Towels are new, but undersized definitely not plush. Hand towels were included, but there were no bath wash towels so we used kitchen wash towels for the showers.If it seems I’m being critical that’s because this could be a five star property instead of the three that I would give it. Update the carpeting, bed linens, and bath linens. The location is great for a quiet family getaway. Half hour or less to Wachusett’s ski run;-)
