Great location / suite with view
Like the location, the history of the hotel. Housekeeping Service could be better - forgotten the coffee capsules and water daily refill. But amazing suite with view.

Hotel is fine but not for an hotel of the Marriott chain and for the price we would have expected more: quality/price not excellent! We arrived at 4:00 pm and our room was not ready (it should have been by 3 pm) and only given at almost 18! Other guests arriving after us were immediately admitted to their rooms! So probably the reservation by Expedia are treated in a different (lower scale)? Everything ok with the room and location. But it is a bit pretentious. Old and historic part of hotel is only reserved for lobby/meeting rooms/ resto and parties and some few rooms. Majority of rooms are located in a beside modern building attached and connected to the historic part. Not the same charming character at all of the historic part!

Thank you for your honest feedback! I am sorry there was a delay checking you into your room. We value all our guests and try to accommodate as fast as possible.I am glad you enjoyed the architecture of the hotel and if you have another chance to stay with us feel free to reach out to our Liberty Service team to experience our jail side rooms. We only have 18 of those rooms, each with a single king size bed inside, which makes those rooms subject to availability.

The hotel was loud and we were put in a room next to an air conditoner system that vibrated the entire night keeping us up.

Don’t even think about it. Horrible in every way. Bad service, nothing works in the room. Looks old ad dirty. No phone to communicate, they could not instal a phone in 5 nights. Very noisy, you can hear everything from the room next door. House keeping never arrived after asking more than 4 times. Horrible.

did not like escalator was blocked off, seemed crazy not to leave it open to walk up. it was unsightly and pointless,slowed the elevators up by increasing usage. my other complaint was no drawer at front desk to break bills, I had to use ATM to get tip cash(cost me 5 bucks) both small things, but a very easy fix with little effort

Very disappointing stay. Hotel operates a night club in the lobby on Friday and Saturday nights. Not one singke staff oerson made us aware. The musuc was so loud, it could be heard clearly in our room and the bass from the music, reverberated through the room. With an early morning surgery at MGH next mirning, this was kess than ideal. If we were made aware I would have stayed somewhere else. We will never be back. Simply an awful experience.

I only live about 8 miles away from the Liberty, but have stayed there on two separate occasions in the last several months. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed, and many have nice views of the city and Charles River. There’s a great bar area, and I’ve eaten in all the restaurants there…the food options are delicious. The only small drawback is the plumbing seems slow/clogged…not to a terrible degree but in both rooms I had I noticed slow drainage in the bathroom sinks. The room I had a few months ago was quite sluggish and the staff worked immediately to correct it when I mentioned it. Last night I did not notify the staff about it because it was minor. The shower and tub was fine so overall no complaints.

Wonderful historic hotel with several bars and restaurants on the property. Beautiful lobby with many spaces to hang out, have a drink, people watch. Saturday night had vibrant night life with a DJ and a busy bar scene (which didn’t affect us at all in our room - was entirely quiet). Highly recommend to stay here!

The rooms were not ready at 4 and 5pm. We were told that some people had priority and they could check out basically whenever. I’m not sure what the point of reservations are if you can not get into your room until basically nighttime. Beds were not comfortable. Couch leather was peeling. Just a bit grimey? It’s a hotel that hasn’t been updated since it opened, 10, 20 years ago now?

We had three rooms for our family – our first room smelled like cigarettes and the bathroom had cigarette ashes on the floor. We changed our room to 713. My 13-year-old son was in 722 but the key would not work. We tried 4 times making new keys and each time the door would not unlock. Each time I would get new keys, come down to the front desk and return with a set of keys that did not work. Finally a housekeeper walked by and offered to open the door. Our new room in 713 had plumbing issues with the toilet water coming up without even flushing it. I asked the front desk to fix this while we were out shopping. When we returned in the afternoon around 3pm – our room was cleaned but the toilet was overflowing with brown water from the plumbing. Andrew was on duty and apologized profusely and offered to move us to 806. That room was better, and the plumbing worked. Believe it or not – the heating did not work which we found out when we went to bed – unless you maxed it out to 80 degrees and it would come on for 5 minutes. We called the front desk and they sent up two thin blankets.
