Please be aware this home was built in 1733 and is not soundproof. Please note, this is a quiet home, running and screaming children wont be welcome, It is appreciated if you can be aware of this while you enjoy this house. Besides that I want your stay here to be very enjoyable. Welcome drink of Prosecco and chocolates to start your vacation off, Location in the middle of downtown, walkable to all restaurants, beach, movie theatre, live music, Speak Easy, parks and much more! Each room has there own TV. (2) 42" TV's. New Beach chairs, beach towels, coolers and lotion for your use. Large back yard, seats 6 on comfortable patio, 1 gas heater 1 electric, enjoy the flowers, take a breather. For the kids - children over 12 are welcome, This is not a soundproof building (built in 1733) and active children can be disruptive to others - most the time without knowing it. 12 yrs old+ children can enjoy toys and coloring books, games, squirt guns, sprinkler, bubble maker, glow in the dark frisbee, balls, plus more! Upstairs: Living room - HD TV, sectional sofa, dining area with 6 chairs, brand new in wall electric fireplace. Kitchen - stainless steel appliances, New Ninja coffee maker, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, granite counter tops; Bedroom 1: Full bed, TV, closet; Bedroom 2: Queen bed, HD TV, desk, laundry, 2 closets; Bathroom 1: Full with a tub; Bathroom 2: Full with a shower. Downstairs: Bedroom 3: Queen bed, desk, large closet, next to Bedroom 4, also designed with a family and kids in mind with an adjoining bedroom and a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that convert to a king. A 52” HD TV games, beanbag chairs, board games, 50 coloring, pencils with books. Two accent. chairs and a table … so when the adults are relaxing upstairs it’s a great place for the kids to enjoy their space. (Also available are additional airbeds). The location of this home is right at 5 corners in Old Town and steps away from many restaurants, shops, boutiques, bike path with rental bikes - no car needed. You will be 1 mile from the beach, 10 minute drive from Salem. This property has the original foot print of the home in 1735, with an addition and a new downstairs. The original wide plank pine floors and exposed beams in the ceiling, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, gas stove, and dishwasher. Full size washer and dryer in unit with a large master bedroom Do you ever want to get away? Not just to another vacation rental but REALLY GET AWAY… imagine this, step in to a historical building in Old Town, Marblehead a old New England town which originated in the 1600’s , this is where the navy originated…. long ago. And now it is an affluent town, surrounded by water and beaches, restaurants, with name plates on every building telling you about the original owner, and his profession and 5 yacht clubs last time I counted. And then you open the door and walk into you first room and you realize you are really away … you are now in a safari, there are elephants, giraffes, tigers, and in a glance to the left and to the right you get the feeling of Mad Men but not in an office drinking cocktails, in the safari (so much better) a different place and time, on a safari, you can t believe what you are seeing…. Then you step down the hall and there is a sign on each door, and there is a Glam room. It is hot pink, light green and gold to glam it up, and who is with you? Audrey Hepburn is to the right, and to the left is a mirrored gold vanity desk and tons of closets….. now this room is glamourous… hard to decide where to hang out right at the moment. Back down the hall and there is a sign on the door that looks mid-century modern, lets go in. Sure enough, each little detail screams mid-century modern and 2 closets and suite bathroom….. let’s keep moving. Now we are downstairs, and this room is all about the ocean, and how fun there is a wall with chalk board paint we can draw on, there are schools of fish swimming on the wall , glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. And a huge tv showing an ocean program, 2 twin beds, 2 bean bag chairs, (with fish and shells all over them, a siting area with 2 blue chairs and a white table, and look at the games! Twister, books, cards, puzzles, glow in the dark balls, and squirt guns! We can play with those in the yard, this place has a beautiful back yard, with 3 lilac bushes, 1 very large Hydrangea, 3 rose bushes, and Irises, and a patio which has a great siting area, a couch, 3 additional seats, lots of tables to hold my drink and 2 heat lamps to keep the chill off if necessary….. yes, this is a themed vacation rental, every room has a theme, adding more excitement to our trip. It’s a great way to really escape – if its done right, and this one is done right! Not only all this, but chocolates and lavender oil on your pillow, a bottle of Prosseco when you arrive, and a basket of everything you may left behind right there for your use. And if your looking for something different, maybe a personal chef to make you dinner, maybe a singer to entertain you.... just ask, caue this in not your ordinary vacation rental. ## Commodités de l’hébergement ### Plage - The home itself was fine, but unfortunately the host made us feel very unwelcome. We had a service dog, and despite cleaning up after him every time, the host told us he was not allowed in the backyard because her dog was taking longer to use the bathroom bc it could smell our dog. She even threatened to remove us if she saw him outside again, and attempted to charge an extra fee after our stay, which showed a severe lack of ADA protections.The backyard was also often unavailable in the evenings due to the host using it with friends. With 4 adults, and three small children, the house is tight and not particularly kid-friendly. The first-floor bedroom had a very uncomfortable spring mattress, and both bathrooms were located on the first floor (none on the lower level). Parking was inconsistent—sometimes available nearby, but at worst down the street.Overall, while the home had potential, the experience was extremely disappointing due to the host’s restrictions, rude demeanor and lack of hospitality. ##### Merima K.
