LAKEFRONT LIVING AT ITS FINEST!! An easy 15 minute drive to Blowing Rock, Lakeshore Retreat is a gorgeous home just a few yards from the lake in the beautiful gated community of Sweetgrass. With paved, flat parking, there is easy access to this four bedroom, three and a half bath home. From the first step inside, you will fall in love with the view of the lake, lapping just a few yards away from the front deck. A large picture window means you can enjoy both the remote controlled gas-log fireplace, TV, and the ever-changing lake view with Grandfather Mountain behind it. Exposed distressed beams overhead evoke the mountain lodge style. The dining area easily seats 6, with room for several more at the island. In the kitchen, there is a coppered farmhouse style apron sink, live edge dark leathered granite, all stainless appliances including a gas range, a Keurig, and a standard coffee maker. Off of the kitchen is the laundry room with a sink for ease of cleaning up. The Master King bedroom is off of the living room. It features deck access, the lake view, a Roku TV, and a private bath. In the ensuite bath, there is a custom tiled shower, a large soaking tub, and double vanities. The leathered granite at the vanities matches the counters in the kitchen. There is also a half bath off the entry hallway. Upstairs is a second living area, great for families to unwind together. A large sectional invites you to sit and chat or watch a movie. A selection of board games are there for bonding on a quiet afternoon. Three bedrooms are upstairs. There is a second master with a California King bed, the lake view, a TV, and its own custom tiled bath. Two twin beds are in the third bedroom, which could also be put together for a king sized sleeping area. The fourth bedroom has a Queen bed along with a low profile twin over twin bunk bed. Between these two bedrooms is a third full bathroom. Outside, you'll have plenty to do and see. The deck has plenty of seating for dining al fresco, a woodburning fireplace, and a new grill. The deck leads down to the lawn on the shores of the lake. There is a walking trail that circles the lake, as well as other trails within Sweetgrass. Hike to the other side of the lake and gaze upon Lakeshore Retreat from across the water while you enjoy a picnic at the gazebo on the dam or visit with others in the neighborhood by the community firepit. ABOUT SWEETGRASS Within the neighborhood is Boone Fork Creek, which winds through the middle of Sweetgrass and has been designated as a North Carolina Outstanding Trout Stream. Just a little ways up the road at the heart of SweetGrass is the 22-acre lake fed by Boone Fork Creek! Bring your own canoes/kayaks and paddles to enjoy this beautiful lake! ADDITIONAL NOTES: \- Sweetgrass is an environmentally conscious community that observes a catch and release fishing policy to ensure a sustained fish population. \- The Sweetgrass neighborhood is a peaceful haven, and therefore does not permit firearm discharge, fireworks, golf carts, dirt bikes, four wheelers, loud music, or other objectionable noises that disrupts the quiet enjoyment of the natural environment. During quiet hours (10PM – 8AM), all outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum. \- Rental guests have access to the grounds around the lake house, all hiking trails, and may fish in the lake. Guests are not permitted inside the lake house or on its patio. ATVs are not permitted on the hiking trails. \- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided. \- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am \- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. \- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home. \- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook. \- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable. \- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. \- NCREC Broker Name: Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. We arrived at the home a little early and called to see if we could get an early check in. She heard our younger daughter in the background and said “Let me see what I can do it sounds like you have a little one who might want to get out of the car and go run around and stretch her legs”. Great customer service. The location of the home is amazing, beautiful lake. We want to come back in the summer so we can walk the trails and enjoy the outdoors more. The home was very nice although a little dirty. The mirrors had spray on them and some of the appliances had stuff on the handles. You could tell the property needed a thorough dusting and vacuuming. The shower heads were also slightly clogged with hard water deposits but again nothing major. We’re not sure if because of the early check in the property was not cleaned with a final walkthrough or not so we were understanding. Overall I wouldn’t let that detract from the wonderful time we had with family enjoying blows by rock and Boone for the weekend. We will rent again. ##### Draughn F. The descriptions and photos on line were spot on. When we walked in the front door we all gasped at the view of the lake out of the wall of windows. Bedrooms were lovely. Beds were very comfy. And oh! Those showers. Our master shower downstairs was so wonderful, we didn’t want to get out. My sons and grand daughter loved paddleboarding and fishing. Didn’t catch any large fish, but had a ball. We had a fire in the fireplace on the expansive back porch every evening and listened to the bullfrogs communicating with each other. We have rented other vacation homes from different companies. None of them compare to this. ##### Jonathan W. Larger and comfortable enough for our big group of adults and children. We liked the central location. We were able to enjoy Boone and Blowing rock. Plus not too far from Sugar Mountain. We Enjoyed the nice little treat! Our only complaint was that both the downstairs sliding door locks were broken. So we couldn’t access the back porch without going around the house. Lake view was very relaxing and enjoyable, especially with the outdoor fire place. The mountains were beautiful and the ride to Blowing Rock was easy 5 minute ride. The view of the lake was amazing from most of the house, and the floorplan worked great for our family. We liked having the big dining table, multiple living areas, outdoor fireplace, and easy access to the outdoor area and lake. The house was stocked with most kitchen ingredients, dishware, appliances, etc, as well as having tons of books, puzzles and games on both levels. There were lots of baby/younger kid supplies such as a high chair, pack and play, and plastic tableware. Everything felt brand new, which is extra nice for a rental property! There were lots of nice walking trails around the neighborhood, but we weren't sure what other amenities, such as kayaks, were included for renters (though it ended up being cooler weather anyway). One slight oddity we encountered was in the downstairs master bath, it would be helpful to have a blind or privacy screen on one of the windows as the view goes right to the toilet via the mirror! We also had a power outage due to wind gusts; it took a few calls and messages to be able to speak with someone on a Saturday afternoon, but they did call us back each time and it got fixed within a few hours. We had a great stay overall and would definitely stay here again! ##### Ashley E. It’s 12 minutes to Blowing Rock. Floor plan is perfect for a family or 2 with a primary suite on the main and second floor. Very spacious with plenty of room for 2 families. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and I so appreciated the kids items (plates, cups, forks, spoons, etc). Decor and furniture was well done and outdoor space was so nice. We spent most of our time on the back porch by the fire. The house is very nice, especially the back deck with the fireplace. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for making family meals. The view is fantastic, especially the sunrises. The lake and walking trail were terrific, multiple family walks and fishing took place, and it was easy to keep an eye on 10-12 year olds by the water. We loved the outdoor fireplace and rocking chairs on the large deck. The location is great, close to Blowing Rock and a short trip to Boone. We took day trips to Linville, Asheville, Grandfather Mountain and had a really pleasant experience. ##### Andy B. We stayed for a week and had so much fun. We had 4 adults and 5 kids. There was plenty to do and lots of space inside and outdoors for the kids. Wish we could’ve had fishing poles to fish in the lake. Also, one towel for each person wasn’t ideal. We ended up buying a few extra at the store. The house was close to all the attractions like skiing, tubing, gem mining, lots of hiking and horseback riding. We stayed busy and the kids had a blast. The home is gorgeous, with a perfect floor plan for a family and very well equipped kitchen, game room and more. As beautiful as the home is on the interior the exterior views are even more incredible. We enjoyed playing puzzles and games with our kids on the big kitchen island, reading and watching TV by the indoor gas fireplace and spent lots of time walking around the lake and exploring the trails in the neighborhood. Sweetgrass is super convenient to downtown Blowing Rock, Appalachian Mountain (where our kids went ice skating) and Hawksnest Snow Tubing, which is a must visit during the winter. We stayed for a long weekend of skiing and tubing and this home did not disappoint. Plenty of room for our family and all the supplies we needed to cook at home and relax after long days out on the mountains.
