Not to mention, the new outdoor deck boasts a fireplace, new outdoor furnishings, and a twin daybed swing. ‘Aska Base Camp’ is the perfect location to gather for your Blue Ridge adventures. The Aska adventure area offers miles of hiking, mountain biking, tubing, and kayaking. The beautiful water and scenery of Lake Blue Ridge and the marina are only a few miles away. The charming downtown Blue Ridge restaurants and shops (as well as several grocery store options) are an easy drive through beautiful mountain views on paved Aska Rd. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Please note: this home resides in a noise-sensitive area and the owners participate in our Good Neighbor protection program. Our smart home technology will alert our team if excessive decibel or occupancy levels are detected, allowing us to reach out directly with a reminder of maximum occupancy and quiet hours. The house is very well maintained and up to date. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen with nice dishes, flatware and lots of cooking utensils. We didn't get to go on some trails because we planned to do that on Christmas Day and it happened to rain all day. The rushing water and gloriously colored foliage reminded us of the days when we lived in New England. Right on river and cabin is comfortable. River water was very refreshing and clean just make sure grab some water shoes if planning to swim, huge rocks under water, very difficult to get in. ##### Vytenis R. Loved being on the river, but we were not able to get our fishing kayaks down to the river (too hard to get them back up). The decks were great to sit on and view the river. The negative is parking, skinny steep driveway with no pull through. You have to back up the driveway and right now the pull out area has a wash out issue (large hole). Great location right on the river. Upstairs is very nice and newly remodeled. Downstairs was nice, but hasnt yet had a complete remodel. House was clean enough, could have used a deep cleaning. It was Spring and pollen was on rails and furniture on the porch. Overall we liked the place, would stay there again, and loved the location right on the river. ##### Jeanne C. My only caution would be that it is a very steep climb down to the cabin itself. If you have trouble navigating stairs, especially carrying luggage, it may prove difficult for you. But once you get there, it’s well worth the climb. ##### Laura D.
