DETAILS: Nestled within the picturesque Montana landscape, 9 Happy Trails is a 3-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home in Big Sky, sleeping up to 9 guests. With easy access to Big Sky Resort for skiing, sledding, fly-fishing, and mountain biking, the activities are endless no matter the season! Guests will love returning after an exciting day of hiking or skiing to the wood-burning fireplace, private hot tub, and spectacular views.

Rugged accents mix with luxury furnishings and finishes to create an inviting lodge aesthetic throughout this 3-story home. Convenient boot warmers sit near the entrance on the first floor. The primary bedroom has a comfortable king bed, 42” TV, gas fireplace, and deck access. There are 2 guest bedrooms—1 with a queen bed and 1 with a twin-over-queen bunk bed. Outside, guests can enjoy the fresh air and sweeping views on the spacious deck.

The combined living, dining, and kitchen spaces are on the second level. Soft leather seating beckons for a cozy night, sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace while enjoying a favorite movie on the DVD player and TV. High-end GE appliances are featured in the sizeable kitchen—including a wine fridge. After a day of exploring, cook a refueling feast to share at the formal dining table seating 6, with 3 additional seats at the kitchen bar. Indulge in an evening cocktail on the back deck with 2 Adirondack chairs and a grill. A private hot tub offers a soothing soak for sore muscles and panoramic mountain views of Andesite, Lone Peak, and the Spanish Peaks range.

A secondary living space is in the loft with a 55” TV, sofa, and armchair—perfect for teens or children.

Year-round fun awaits at 9 Happy Trails in Big Sky. Easily explore the area with parking for 1 car in the garage and 2 in the driveway. Ski access is a short walk down Happy Trails Drive to a groomed run or a 5-minute drive to Madison Base. In the Summer, a walkway leads to Moonlight Basin’s hiking and biking trail network. Great home, wonderful vacation, not ski in/out

We gave this home 5 stars due to beautiful home and great hot tub. But took 3 days to find a way to ski back to intersection, then walk. Even ski "accessible" would take great snow conditions. Also, spoke with management about counting sleeper sofa (2) when mattress in poor condition. We purchased a memory foam topper to avoid hitting bar support.

Nice place but way over valued

This place was nice, but a few things were really lacking. Mainly the management company isn't great. We tried to do an earlier check-in than 5 PM since we were arriving with young kids jet lagged. They didn't really seem to care to help us out, and we didn't even hear back from them. We even arrived earlier to drop off our bags and saw the place was already clean and ready, but no word from the management company. There were some broken items and all the beds were very uncomfortable, which is probably the most disappointing part of the booking. When we arrived there was a broken kettle but took them 3 days to supply a new one. Just another example, they supplied the cheapest, harshest toilet paper. Also there is no smart TV and the universal remote is a real pain to use. Besides that the house is nice and in a good location, but I think you can find much better value in other places.

Wonderful slope side house!

This house was perfect for our two family vacation- plenty of space, great amenities and the cleanliness was a ten. The location on the mountain is perfect- close to the lodge and a short walk to jump on the trail. We'd highly recommend this spot, as the accommodations were and service was impeccable.

Great family ski trip

Overall awesome property. Great view, great location. House has everything you could ask for. Only negative, and this was disclosed, is that it is not true ski in/out. You have to trek down a deep snowy hill and back up a snowy embankment to a bridge. This is fine for athletic adults, however probably not with young kids as we have. We drove our kids to bottom of bridge and hiked up from there. As long as you know this up front, it’s great!

Incredible property and experience

We very much enjoyed our stay at the 9 happy trails property. Given this was in the COVID era... I couldn't have been happier with how incredibly clean the property was and how professional the management company was as well. It made us feel very comfortable with taking a break to this house given all of the crazy going on around us. The property had everything needed. Only downside (if you could even call it that) was that there is no ice maker, but we were able to buy ice at the store and keep it in the freezer. The entire stay was outstanding. The property management company even offered to pick up trash in a social distanced way during our stay as we couldn't find where to put the trash in the garage. We were very impressed by the entire experience and we hope to stay at the property again in the future! Highly recommend for 1-2 families. We had only 4 of us and it was very spacious for all to have their own rooms.
