Perfect location; easy walk to restaurants & other activities. Parking immediately in front of the property is a huge plus. However, the property was dated & could use a refresh to make it feel more welcoming. We arrived in town at 3 PM. We called to see if we could get access early (check-in was at 4 PM). We were told they were not done with cleaning, though no one was there onsite. This was offputting, but understand policies on checkin & checkout timing (though being honest would have sufficed, vs saying someone was still cleaning). At exactly 4 PM we received the code to get in.Other issues: -Shower - old, heavy & very difficult to open & close (had major concerns as it consistently fell of it's track - especially since a screw fell out during one of the uses). Very noticeable and dangerous; should have been caught in any cleaning/maintenance check -Dead mice in the closet - there were 2 traps; the rodent problem was clearly known -Carbon monoxide detector started beeping due to low batteries after we put our son to bed -Trash removal required us to put all waste & recycle in our vehicle & drive 1.5 miles to the dumpster location (unacceptable) -Missing vertical blinds (pieces were in the closet); this impacted privacy & sleeping comfort Overall the home had the essentials - 2 bedrooms, multiple restrooms, stocked kitchen, good WIFI, & TV entertainment options for all ages. ##### Alexander G. Rented this cabin in Big Bear because my husband was participating in the Big Bear Triathlon. It was clean and had most amenities a person would need. The location was excellent: a short 1 block walk to the Village and 2 blocks from the Tri staging area and lake access. Would have given 5 stars if: being a "pet friendly" rental, it would've had a fully fenced yard and had been mowed; maybe a window AC unit as it was a hot weekend; if it had a BBq. We all enjoyed the luxury of just walking into town for food, shopping, food, or treats. Overall this cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. My only complaint was the dishes being dirty when going to use them because it’s up to the guests to do all the dishes. . Kind of gross.
