Only a 10-minute drive to downtown Lichfield to indulge in great restaurants and shopping. Experience local wineries. Conveniently located 2 hours from NYC, this peaceful cabin offers a quick escape to nature while being close to everything! Deer Ridge Cabin CT is your perfect getaway! Deer Ridge Cabin CT has been carefully designed with our guests in mind. Providing an aesthetic look, comfort, and a wonderful experience for our guests is our main goal. The cabin can sleep 4 adults and 2 kids. It has two bedrooms on the main floor with a queen bed each, and the loft, which is located over the kitchen, has a queen mattress. The loft is suited for kids 7 years and older, as they must climb a steep ladder to get to it. Kids love the loft!! The Loft is Not recommended for adults. We have 3 split systems with Heat, Cool & Dehumidifier settings, and a wood-burning fireplace that can heat the whole cabin, perfect for enjoying those chilly nights. There is also a large deck with a gas grill, seating area, and a picnic table for dining al fresco. You will find books, table games, cornhole, and a wireless speaker, as well as our guide for our favorite restaurants and places to visit during your stay. The cabin's kitchen and bathrooms are well equipped with everything you need for your visit. Access to the private beach is a short 3-4 minute walk from the cabin and the boat launch. We have a double kayak and a paddleboard that we offer to our guests free of charge. The location is ideal! There are so many places to visit and events throughout the year that are interesting and fun. During winter, Mohawk Mountain and Mt. Southington Ski Area are within 30 and 40 minutes away. You can visit the Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden, which is just down the road, as well as March Farm, where you can get amazing fresh cider donuts, delicious pies, and fresh produce, or go apple and strawberry picking when in season. There are many other farms nearby, along with several wineries like Hawk Ridge Winery, only 11 minutes away! The Antique Row in Woodbury is just a few minutes away. If you like hiking and enjoying nature, Nonnewaug Falls and other national parks are nearby. Our host, Mariana, had stocked the cottage with lots of amenities. Lots of coffee, ample towels, TP, tissues, disposable toothbrushs and toothpaste, paper towels, extra blankets, even wood bricks for the fireplace! Much more than you normally find. All this made our stay so comfortable and relaxing. The beds were super comfy, and all the cozy touches—soft blankets, good coffee, and a comfy couch with plenty of lap blankets—made it feel like home. The place was really clean and airy but still felt tucked away in a peaceful, woodsy area.We also loved all the thoughtful details, like extra travel toothbrushes, loofahs, and really nice shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. You can tell the host put a lot of care into making guests feel welcome. We’re moving to Kansas soon but will definitely want to stay here again when we come back to visit! ##### Robyn R. We were greeted by some lovely gaggle of lady turkeys who really liked the property while we were staying. A wonderful and kind toad at night, some arguing owls another night, all in all abvery nice place. 2 sepwrate bedrooms with a loft bed separate in the living room. The ductless split wall units were more than sufficient for our heating and cooling needs. The kitchen is really stocked all the pans/cookware. You may wznt to get your own spices, but she provided olive oil and spray. A toaster, coffee maker with different selections of coffee available. A cooler, ice paks, pretty much all conviences of home. The washer/dryer combo does take about 4-5hours to complete and is very loud, so plan on doing your wash in the day. We didnt use the inflatable kayak, so i dont know if its ok or not. There is a nice patio with 2 tables and a nice yard. It is a very walkable space as well. The home was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The cabin was absolutely perfect! We were close to all the small towns we wanted to see, the Mayflower Inn, and then we came home every night to a beautiful hideaway to relax! The host thought of literally everything! Even ponytail holders. She was easy to communicate with and an amazing decorated!
