This property was formerly known as Summerlea. The whole family can spread out across this beautifully decorated property with three king beds and two singles, and a private pool to cool off on hot days. Stay comfortable inside in any weather with air conditioning through the entire house and a fireplace in one of two living rooms. Parents and kids can split up and choose from Netflix or DVDs to watch on cosy lounges in either of two living areas, or rile up some friendly competition over a board game. The master bedroom has a grand ensuite bathroom with a spa bath for the couples, and for solo quiet time you can take a book out to the courtyard chairs or the lush front lawn under the trees near the perfectly manicured gardens and tall hedges for privacy. At mealtimes, cook up a storm on the outdoor BBQ and cooking area complete with a sink or in the woodfired pizza oven, and eat outside in the covered deck in the fresh air with an outdoor fan above the table if it gets too warm. After lunch, the pool has room for everyone to lay out on the deck chairs or splash in the water with a few drinks nearby, or head into town to explore. Just around the corner is Berry Donut Van, arguably the greatest attraction of this charming town (and absolutely not overhyped, don’t leave without trying them), and a few more steps down the road are dozens of stores, cafes and restaurants. Buy treats from the tea shop, the bon bon shop and the ice creameries, browse the bookshops, get some award-winning wines to enjoy back at Mulberry House, or have a delicious meal at one of their restaurants. There’s a regular farmers market where you can make up a picnic lunch and drive the few minutes to Seven Mile Beach for a day on the shore and swim in the waves. At night, gather around the firepit and watch the stars come out for a stunning view of the Milky Way. However you choose to enjoy your holiday, Mulberry House will provide everything you need for an unforgettable stay and treasured memories. However the property is tired and has a number of issues that the owner really needs to fix given the price being charged. Negatives:- Fan in master bed doesn't work properly (noisy and broken remote) and the room is unbearably hot for summer stays- The AC return air grill in the main hall was blocked with dust and barely any cold air reaches the master. - Outdoor area was very dirty - we all got black feet from the dirt and had to wipe them every time we went inside- BBQ ignition doesn't work so it needs to be lit with matches after removing the grilles. It didn't appear to have been cleaned for a while- 1/2 bag of wood and no kindling for pizza oven - we had to buy our own even though we only used it once- the flueing for the pizza oven is inadequate as most of the smoke comes out of the front even when fire is hot - you can't sit out there when in use- Pool full of leaves and dirty- Oven dirty and didn't close fully so cooking in it was a challenge- Many light switches had either no covers or were dirtyPositives:- Beds were very comfortable, good linen and nicely made- All other bedrooms were great in terms of comfort- Bathrooms were clean and generous- Pet friendly garden and great car access- Convenient and private setting- Property management staff were helpful and responsive ##### Kate S. Cleanliness though was an issue both inside and out. The pool was dirty and outside BBQ area not clean. Inside was also an issue with laundry being left from previous visitors. We also had the pool maintenance man turn up unannouced in the middle of our stay to clean the pool while we were using it. The house itself was lovely. The rooms were huge and there were two seperate living areas and a large kitchen. The outdoor areas suited us perfectly, we didn’t end up taking our dogs but if we had they would’ve have a good area to play in as the pool, outdoor eating area and grassed area were separated with fences. The kitchen, dining area, and lounge flow off the front entrance, and the outside space has a pool and a covered outside dining area. The weather was warm and perfect for using the swimming pool. The property is very expensive for what you get and had so much dog hair on the cushions on the lounge which wasn’t great.
