The newly renovated cottage has been completely refinished, to include a very open concept, consisting of the living area, dining and kitchen. The décor has been updated throughout. The home features 3 bathrooms and 4+ bedrooms, all on one floor. Bedroom one features a queen bed and ensuite bathroom, bedroom two is a queen, bedroom 3 has twin bunk beds, bedroom 4 has a twin and a full, plus there is a small den/bedroom with a twin daybed. Gorgeous kitchen with quartz countertops, living room with a wood burning fireplace. Additionally, there is a lovely front porch, outdoor shower, and private 5-person hot tub (open year-round!). Located in Lakeside, 2 blocks to the private Orchard Beach access. The location of this house was close to MI City outlet mall shopping and great wineries, distilleries, restaurants and tap rooms. The house was clean upon arrival and stocked with all the amenities we needed for the weekend. Despite the weather, we walked to the beach which was close by. We absolutely loved the home. It was in spotless condition when we arrived. The cottage decor is gorgeous and fits in well with the beach theme. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, we all had our private space when needed, but the kitchen with the to-die-for island and the cozy livingroom offered us great places to gather. We spent most of our time at the private beach (small, but beautiful and never crowded and a very easy walk, about 5 minutes). We also rented bikes and enjoyed some beautiful bike rides along Lakeshore Road. We also loved the front porch, very spacious with a great porch swing. The location is perfect, so close to the beach but a very short drive away to coffeeshops, bakeries and New Buffalo restaurants. Jason and staff were also very responsive and easy to work with. It was also a short drive to Warren Dunes State Park where we could rent paddle boards and kayaks or hike the dunes. That was fun for a full beach day. The management company was great; very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Overall it was a good property. The only reason for the four star rating instead of a five is the road to the house is a poorly maintained gravel road that is so full of potholes. You also walk along this on your way to the beach. Things are overgrown and it makes the area seem unkept. I don't believe this has anything to do with the management company of course. I'm sure the city of Lakeside is responsible for that. It would be nice if they could fix it, since that's your first impression as you arrive at the house.
