Beautiful Waterfront Vacation Rental on the Currituck Sound

"Our stay at this hidden gem on Bells Island was nothing short of magical. Tucked away right on the shores of the Currituck Sound, this VRBO provided the ultimate peaceful coastal escape. If you are looking to trade crowded beaches for undisturbed tranquility, this is the perfect destination.The highlight of the home was undoubtedly its expansive back deck and private dock. We spent our mornings sipping coffee as the mist lifted off the calm water, and our evenings captivated by spectacular, unobstructed sunset views that painted the sky in brilliant hues of orange and pink. The Sound's shallow, gentle waters made it incredibly easy to launch kayaks and paddleboards right from the property, offering hours of effortless outdoor fun.Crabbing from the dock with 2- provided crab traps and 5 collapsible crab traps I purchased provided us with approximately 12 blue claw crabs per day. What crab boils we had!Inside, the house was immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to maximize the stunning waterfront backdrop. Large windows flooded the living space with natural light, ensuring we never missed a view. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking family meals, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable after long days spent out in the sun.While the property felt wonderfully secluded and quiet, it was comforting to know that local seafood spots, grocery stores and the outer banks (OBX) were just a short drive away. We truly received the best of both worlds"

"The house was clean with plenty of space for our family of 8. It is a little weather worn but to be expected with location. I would not recommend the house if you are looking for a place for young children to play on the beach. There is plenty of beach space but only if you aren't considering the auto traffic. However this was our first trip to Corolla and the Nor'easter was just off the coast. That may be the reason for the tide being high at our location all of the time. There are great views of the ocean from this house with a very tranquil vibe"

"This home location is perfect. Close enough to the beach to see the ocean and hear the waves - only 3 rows back a short 5-10 minute walk. Beautiful views of the ocean, sunrise, and sunsets! We loved that it was nestled back amongst the groves offering privacy and respite for the wild horses that visit the property frequently.The home’s layout is perfect for a family or several couples. The l layout makes it feel very large with lots of natural light and beautiful views. The house was equipped with everything we needed including towels and lines which is something very few houses in the area offer these days. Only 3 miles from the main entrance it is also conveniently located to everything on the main part of the island. We cannot wait to return!"

"My sister's and I had our sister's getaway weekend here and absolutely loved this property! The house was just perfect with a room for each of us and the views from right on the water were stunning- beautiful sunsets! Great communication from Kenneth, the host as well! We are already talking about staying here again next year."

"Great, clean, quiet, ICW motel type room with a balcony in a fairly remote area about 30 miles from the Outer Banks. We brought our 18' pleasure boat and did a little fishing. Boat ramp on the property, Coinjock Marina with fuel and restaurant across the canal, and easy access to 2 protected sounds with clearly marked channels. Currituck Sports for bait (about 2 miles away). Coinjock Marina allowed us to tie the boat up at the docks overnight so we didn't have to trailer the boat multiple times over the weekend. This is typically a fee based privilege but buying fuel at the marina and asking permission was key, I feel. The bed was a king size and very comfortable. One notable item, if you arrive after dark be prepared to enter and exit the room quickly as the lights (that you can't turn off) draw massive swarms of bugs right at the door. Overall, we really enjoyed the spot. We also had four meals at Frog Island Seafood Market & Restaurant with a full bar and a full service Oyster Bar!"

"Overall the rental was great. There were some things about it which caused some minor inconveniences but after communicating with the host, these issues were resolved. The overall cleanliness needs help. Under beds and on top of surfaces need dusted. We stayed here in 2024 and at that time it seemed to be in overall better shape than this trip. Still an excellent vacation and the location of this listing can’t be beat."
