Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or enjoying a relaxed family getaway, Sunset Chalet offers a setting that feels both special and deeply comforting. The Space: Sunset Chalet is part of a peaceful lakeside property that includes two charming treehouses (SkyView and MoonLight) and our main home, all nestled along the shore of Belgrade Stream. While each space is fully private — with its own hot tub, fire pit, and seating area — lake access is shared via two docks. You’ll have all the space you need to relax, with just enough community feel if you’re traveling with friends or extended family. Step inside and you’re welcomed by pine-beamed ceilings, soft light, and the quiet presence of the forest just beyond the windows. The upstairs living space is open and warm, with a king bed, queen bed, and a beautiful gas fireplace that adds instant charm—perfect for curling up after a long soak in the hot tub or watching a movie on the 75” Google Smart TV. The kitchenette is thoughtfully equipped with a gas stove, microwave, Keurig, mini fridge, dishware, and all the cookware you’ll need. A full-size refrigerator with freezer is available downstairs for your convenience—ideal for longer stays or family meals. Step out onto your private deck, where your Jacuzzi hot tub waits beneath the trees. Whether it’s your first cup of coffee or a moonlit soak, this is where time slows down and everything feels a little softer. Downstairs, the game room brings play into the mix—ping pong, foosball, board games, a retro arcade machine, another smart TV, and a second fireplace that adds cozy ambiance to rainy days or quiet nights in. It’s a space designed for connection, fun, and relaxed comfort. Both levels feature mini split systems to keep the temperature just right—warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and always just the way you like it. Guest Access: Guests have full access to their own private hot tub, deck, grill, and fire pit. The outdoor space is open and shared, and you’re welcome to enjoy direct access to Belgrade Stream and Messalonskee Lake, along with the kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, sandy lake entry, boat dock, swimming, and fishing throughout your stay. The Neighborhood: Located in a quiet lakeside neighborhood in Belgrade, Maine, the property offers a peaceful and private setting while still being just a short drive to Augusta, Belgrade Lakes Village, local restaurants, trails, and markets. The area is known for its natural beauty, wildlife, and laid-back atmosphere. Whether you’re exploring the lake or relaxing on the deck, you’ll be surrounded by nature at every turn. Getting Around: You’ll want a car to explore the surrounding area, with easy access to downtown Belgrade, Great Pond, and Augusta. Parking is available right next to the chalet, and most destinations are within a 15–25 minute drive. In the warmer months, you can launch kayaks or a paddleboard directly from the shore. Other Things to Note: Pontoon Boat Available From May through October, guests are welcome to rent our 22-foot pontoon boat for a relaxing cruise on the lake. The rate is $299 per day, and the boat comes fully equipped with all required safety gear. Just send us a quick message to check availability — rentals are first come, first served. Pets Welcome We love dogs and know they’re part of the family. There’s a $195 pet fee, and we kindly ask that pets stay off the furniture, be picked up after, and avoid the shared back lawn area. So happy we stayed on this families property and will highly recommend. Hotel like quality with alllll the lake amenities to take advantage of. Day one we used the fire pit and lounging chairs to relax and hot tub at night. We had an excursion the next day and we loved coming back to the comfortable beds to just relax and found a great restaurant in the area on Water street. We reserved all three units, Moonlight Treehouse, Skyview Treehouse and Sunset Chalet as our accommodations for the weekend, to attend our daughter's wedding at a nearby venue. Each unit is beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and inviting. Feras, our host, was always available to help by promptly answering questions, accommodating special requests, and even allowing us to tour the property prior to our stay. Each unit was full of special surprises: fresh cut flowers, desserts, snacks, beverages, coffee and even champagne and a teddy bear for the bride and groom! Feras even checked in with me prior to check-in to see if there were any other special gifts he could provide for the bride and groom. Although we were away from the property often, busy with wedding activities, we were able to enjoy the hot tub, the beautiful view of the stream from our deck with coffee, paddleboarding on the water, and time around the firepit in the evening with family and friends. The property is pet friendly, and our dogs enjoyed the spacious, well-maintained grounds, swimming in the stream, while also being safe, comfortable, and secure in our treehouse while we attended the wedding. Feras went above and beyond our expectations, making us, and our dogs, feel welcome...a true home away from home. It was abundantly clear Feras and family truly care about the comfort of their guests, and worked hard to make everything perfect for our daughter's wedding weekend. We will definitely return in the future for another stay, and now our daughter and new son-in-law have a perfect retreat to return to in the future for anniversary celebrations. This Host includes all the extra touches that make this getaway special and he is very responsive to questions. Having the host live on the property is a plus. The cabin was clean and the views were beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding and exploring the stream with our kids and my little dog. Outdoor areas were what Maine is all about ponds, pine, birch, birds, chipmunks and more. The location was only an hour to an hour and half from my favorite seacoast towns, Camden, Wisscaset, antique shopping in Brunswich and Waterville and Belfast, and LL Bean in Freeport. Perfect location for me and my shopping, sightseeing friends. ##### Virginia S. Séjour de 6 nuits en août 2021 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Julie M. 22 juill. 2021 Points forts : Propreté #### Wonderful stay despite the weather My family of 4 (2 adults and 15 and 11 year old kids) truly enjoyed our 3 night stay at this property in Belgrade despite having terrible weather for the 4th of July weekend. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The chalet house and grounds were immaculately clean — so much so that I didn’t hesitate to put things on the floor. The studio was charming and we enjoyed all of the amenities — gas fireplace, Netflix, kitchenette, and access to the owner’s outdoor jacuzzi.. Upon arrival after a 3 hour drive, we were delighted to find the owners had left us a welcome basket with tons of snacks, salt water taffy, sparkling juice, and cupcakes! Unfortunately, due to the weather, we weren’t able to make use of the waterfront activities, but it’s a lovely property, and we would love to try again next year. ##### Julie M.
