For the price, I would expect it to be cleaner. For instance, the fans downstairs are loaded with dust, but are a must to keep on due to no AC. Also, for the price, and given how hard it is to transport to Fire Island, when someone is staying for a week, it would be great to have a little more on the supply side, like laundry detergent and dishwasher liquid. Pluses: Beautiful large back deck, cozy screened-in porch, location to the beach (about 100 steps to the sand), ocean views from some of the upstairs bedrooms, roomy outdoor shower, excellent water pressure, well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Concerns: the safety of the open riser staircase that leads to the upstairs bedrooms as it lacks a railing on one side making it difficult for people to navigate, there are no lights on the back deck, no AC on the main level (there ARE units in the upstairs bedrooms), there isn’t a microwave (not a necessity but definitely helpful), most of the beach chairs are old and worn. Despite our concerns, we had a lovely family vacation! ##### K P.
