Near Austin, Bastrop State Park and Lost Pines Forrest Nestled in the quiet, tree-lined district of old Bastrop, Texas, Yerba at Bastrop is just two blocks from the historic downtown and Fisherman’s Park—the gateway to canoeing and other activities on the Colorado River. This historic home features hardwood floors, airy windows in every room, and organic gardens tended by your hosts, Rudy and Rebecca, who live next door and ensure guests feel at home. With fireplaces on both levels, the upstairs offers three tranquil bedrooms and two renovated bathrooms—one with a treetop-view bathtub, the other with a waterfall shower. A screened-in porch invites you to enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks with views of birds and bay trees. Downstairs, the dining room, living room, and piano room provide inviting communal spaces, along with an additional bathroom. The kitchen is a delight, stocked with cast-iron cookware collected by Catine Perkins, the owner’s mother, a noted gardener, cook, and artist. Guests can prepare coffee and tea, gather fresh eggs from the backyard coop, and pick herbs from the garden. Nearby shops, including the iconic Tracy’s Drive-In Grocery—an eclectic stop for coffee, teas, sandwiches, and essentials—make stocking up easy. \*Note: This property features security cameras with video recording in progress. One is mounted outside near the back gate as guests come onto the property, a second camera outside the front door facing outward and a third camera inside the screened in porch facing the 2 back doors toward the backyard, with a view to the French door entrance as well. \*\*The health and safety of our guests is paramount. Cleanliness is always our top priority. We offer a 24-hour guest service contact number for emergencies and messages will be answered promptly. The house has a lot of antique looking furniture and decorations which was really cool! We got fresh eggs every day and used some of the herbs from the garden as well! The screened in porches were really nice you relax on. The stairs are very short and steep so watch out for those, I slipped the first day! Comfortable beds and the AC worked great! ##### Stasia L. We rented the Yerba at Bastrop to have a central location to be able to sit with extended family and friends from all of Bastrop. We have his and hers and hers and not everyone wants to be visiting with each other. Renting a home makes for seamless visiting. The house is not just beautiful, but extremely cozy. Although we didn't cook this trip, it has a beautiful kitchen with all the amenities necessary to do so. The dining room is beautiful and we had a lovely breakfast with my mother on our last morning. If the Yerba is available when we come back I would definitely request to rent again. ##### Angela Q.
