There was a breakdown in clear communication about this reservation. The name was accurate on the reservation, as asked, but because I also had a reservation for another room with my name on it at this same property, they would not let me check in without changing the name to someone else in our party. I put my name on both reservations because I paid for them. I had to pay $99 for the name change & we had to wait in our van & then the other room, with my son who is disabled & uses a wheelchair, for over 2 hours before getting the name changed so that we could check into our room. If I had known this would be a problem, I would have put a separate name on each reservation but I was not made aware of this during the reservation process. The individuals at the desk for check-in were not very kind or helpful with any of this. They made the owner of the property sound like it was their fault for listing the room on VRBO inaccurately & did not talk very highly of this method of making a reservations. They kept blaming & talking negatively about the owner of this room. It was a very confusing process to me because I assumed all of these entities work together as part of the Wyndham property. I do not think we will ever use this process again. By the time we checked into our room there was no time to enjoy the water park & we were exhausted from the confusion of the check-in process. We are not asking for pity but there are a lot of details in helping a person with special needs. We did not anticipate having any issues like this after reserving & paying for a room for 2 nights. Thankfully we had reserved 2 nights so were able to enjoy the next day at the water park. If we had only reserved one night the anxiety & chaos of check- in would not have made the trip worth it. The room was as described on the listing.
