Per the building's HOA, air conditioning of any form is under review. AC is not guaranteed for reservations in 2026\. Baseboard heaters keep the home warm in winter. More details about the unit are below! Welcome to Sugar Mountain Serenity! This one-level property, the top level of an iconic Sugar Mountain roundhouse, is a perfect choice for your next mountain adventure! Located walking distance to the ski slopes, ice skating, tubing and Sugar Mountain amenities (golf and tennis in the summer) as well as an easy drive to the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster! Accessed via a short flight of stairs from the parking area, you'll find everything you need right at your fingertips when you enter. The family room is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the gas fireplace, big TV with Streaming services, and a nice selection of comfortable couches. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you'll need for preparing snacks and meals as well as a dishwasher. In warmer weather, open the sliding glass door to enjoy the private wrap-around deck. Once the leaves fall, enjoy your coffee and the profile view of Grandfather Mountain from the dining table. Peg storage for skis is located on the exterior right by the front door. There are three bedrooms here, all located off the family room. The master suite has a King bed, TV with Streaming services, and private bathroom with a tiled tub/shower. There is also a Queen bedroom with TV and Streaming services as well as a bedroom with two sets of twin bunk beds; these two rooms share the second full bath off the hallway. Family friendly games, puzzles, and books are located in the bunk bed room (please leave for the next guest). Extra pillows, blankets, throws, and a HEPA air purifier are provided. A full sized washer and dryer are located off the hallway. Sugar Mountain Serenity is perfectly located in the heart of Sugar Mountain close to everything this beautiful resort town has to offer including skiing and snowboarding, golf, tennis, mountain biking, festivals, and so much more. Downtown Banner Elk with shopping and dining is just a few minutes drive away. Boone, Valle Crucis, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, and Hawksnest Tubing are all twenty to thirty minutes away. Choose to experience Sugar Mountain Serenity for your next getaway! IMPORTANT NOTES \- This home is accessed by a short flight of 7 stairs from the parking area. \- The property is the top level unit of a three-unit building. There may be other people in the units below you. The entrance to the unit and the deck are private. \- This unit has electric baseboard heaters. It does not offer central air conditioning at this time. \- Due to Hurricane Helene, renters must access the unit using the second entrance to Timber Ridge Rd from Sugar Mountain Dr. \- Parking is First Come First Serve for up to two (2) cars. Do not bring more than 2 vehicles to this unit. \- Trash must be disposed of in the community receptacle near the building. \- Due to the elevation of The Town of Sugar Mountain, all guests are required to come prepared with 4WD or AWD vehicles in winter (November-April) and during inclement weather, you may also need chains. Guests who fail to prepare will not be moved or refunded. \-The HOA does not allow grills on the deck. \- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided. \- Check in is after 4pm and Checkout is by 10am \- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates. \- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home. \- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook. \- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable. \- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement. \- NCREC Broker Name: Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals. The location was great but not ski in ski out. There was a decent walk to the slope but honestly it wasn’t bad. Our group made the walk 2 of the 3 days. It was a cozy place and very enjoyable. The house had the perfect amount of room for the 4 of us. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms.The directions were a little off due to the storms, but luckily we arrived the same time as housekeeping and she was able to tell us the detour route. We had a clogged sink in the kitchen and a missing remote. Someone came the next day and fixed both issues. We did have to call a couple times to find out when someone would be out.You are able to walk to the slopes, but it is a short hike. You have to walk down the entrance road and down some stairs beside the condos down the hill. The biggest negative of our trip was the parking. It was stressful everytime we went out because there seemed to be more cars than parking spots most nights.Overall, we would stay here again if we were in the area. tell us the detour road. ##### Natalie B. To access the slopes you’ll need to walk through the parking lot, cross a road in the neighborhood and then down several steps. Not convenient, especially with small children. Upon arrival we found diarrhea in one of the toilets. It was also clogged. The entire place was absolutely filthy. I took pictures of dirty glasses and utensils that were put away, stains on walls, back of one bathroom door, etc. The cable does not work. You’ll need to use your own accounts to stream live TV and the internet is awful so you’ll only be able to watch for about 20 minutes at a time. Also, Sugar Mountain is a joke. That was an entirely different nightmare for us. I do not recommend at all. We left a day early and looking back we should have left as soon as we arrived. We’ll never return to Sugar Mountain. I did communicate with the rental company and was refunded a small amount of the entire stay. Parking is also an issue on the mountain. I absolutely do not recommend Sugar Mountain. Facilities there are outdated and dirty as well. ##### Gina L. However, the heating in the unit was uneven and the master room was really cold. The house was well set up and the fireplace was easy to use. There was no coffee pot but that’s okay because we were able to use the Keurig. The house could use extra blankets. Getting to the slopes was not easy by foot and needed to drive to the lot. Two small negatives, first the lockbox for the key was on the railing across from the door, which had a numerical entry, small stuff but confusing. Second, no curtains on the big living area windows, which made you feel like a fish in a bowl at night. The big picture was, this is a nice rental. ##### Bob M. Needed better instructions on where the lockbox is located. There's a combo lock on the door so we assumed that was where we used our code. There was a lockbox that was hard to see in the dark when we checked in. We couldn't make the gas fireplace work. You should include clear instructions on how to get it to work. ##### Shane H.
