Mornings and evenings can easily be spent on the spacious deck, as a fire table and seating away for you to reminisce with loved ones. When everyone returns to home base after a full day of fun, the great room will be just the place to kick back and watch a favorite show by the warmth of the gas fireplace. Plus, the chef of the group will be in paradise with all of the appliances and utensils needed to whip up a warm meal in the full kitchen! When it is time to hit the hay, this home is comprised of two spacious floors and four bedrooms. The main bedroom is located on the main floor and boasts a king bed, mountain views, and an ensuite bathroom. Make your way downstairs and you will find three more bedrooms, all of them featuring queen beds. Plus, a bonus room is also downstairs with two desks to get some remote work done if need be! What's nearby: Though you will feel like you are tucked away from it all, this home is in a perfect location to get some privacy while still being close to all of the best attractions. If you happen to be visiting in winter, the skiers will love heading just over a mile north to Beech Mountain Ski Resort or seven miles south to Sugar Mountain Resort, Inc. Come summer the hiking and biking trails in the area are amazing and Grandfather Mountain State Park is home to the Mile High Swinging Bridge 14 miles from home base. Not to mention, the heart of Banner Elk offers a plethora of dining and shopping options. No place is perfect. HaHa Was clean and ready for our stay. I liked that 2 additional propane tanks had been provided. The place could use some new dinning room chairs, along with some other minor upkeep maintenance. One of those would be hammering down the deck nails. This would not take very long, providing a safer place for bare feet. The pluses far out weigh the few minor negatives I have mentioned and again will be back again. I was visiting family in Charlotte, who stay with me and plan on beating me back. Unfortunately they had to do some work while up there. The furniture was very comfortable. The views were absolutely stunning. The keypad did not work and we had to get assistance to access the lock box once we arrived. Only 2 TV's were available in the entire home. We were unable to get any volume from the main TV and for avid sports and news watchers this was very inconvenient. After trouble shooting we realized it was the cable box on the main flo. With a simple swap we were able to adjust, however this was 24 hrs into our stay. The TV's are of good quality but not updated. The second night of our stay, a storm came and the roof had a significant leak that required us to place trash cans underneath to catch the water and clean up what was pooled onto the floor. It is evident that this was not the first leak as the hardwood boards are beginning to cup at this area. The management entity responded quickly to our request for propane and lighter to utilize the fire pit and assist with keypad entry. With that being said, continuing to offer this property at a standard rate without providing information of possible leak in event of rainstorm is not exactly a truthful representation of the property. A few updates with TV's and fixing the leak would make this the absolute perfect place to create wonderful memories. Unfortunately for us, we spent more time trying to get odds and ends fixed rather than relaxing when at the home. ##### Dianne P. Water was frozen all weekend and they told us they'd give us a night free stay and move us into a just as good, if not better place and tried to put us in a shack 45 minutes away from where we were staying. Also all the dishes from the previous stay were still in the dish washer and not put away. Still no refund or anything 2 weeks later after I called a week ago and VRBO said I would get a text or message saying something. ##### Dustin J. The amenities were great and the location to Beech Mt Ski Resort was very close, Sugar Mt Ski Resort was a short drive also. The minor issues with lighting were quickly resolved. The only complaint I have is the bar stools are quite short, the dining room table chairs need to have the legs tightened and there is only 1 television and it’s quite dated. ##### Chauncey J. Gated community and a garage were perfect and a safe feeling. Plenty of room for all of us. The only thing missing was a few more towels, pot holders and tvs in the bedrooms. Only one room with tv. Had difficulty getting into the home with the codes but once we contacted them, they assisted in a timely manner ##### Kim S. When booked this house in description said that there a fireplace, to be honest we mostly booked this house so that we can spend time in front of the fireplace. We checked in and found out that fireplace was broken and needed repairs. There was a note sticked to fireplace, dated 10/30/22 that it was broken and needed repairs and our check in date was 11/19/22\. It was broken for a month and no one even bother to make sure it’s repaired. Grill outside had no propane, when someone brought propane 1 day later we found out that the grill itself is broken as well, had to wait again for them to replace the grill. Almost every room in this house including bathroom have light bulbs that needs to be replaced. For example shower in master bathroom has not light in it. One of the bathrooms downstairs: curtain has mold all over. TV in living room is from 90’, not a smart tv, very little diagonal maybe 32, come on this 2020, you can get a nice TV for 300$. Response time from management company is over to long. Has requested partial refund from the them, still waiting for them to reply. My suggestion, dont rent this house, at least until of the issues described above are fixed. ##### siarhei k. It has spectacular views and was very clean inside. Very close to overlook barn for family wedding ! Cons- The lockbox was on the backside of a beam and very hard to find. The people I called did not know where it was located. The outside entryway and the back deck furniture were not cleaned. Have the cleaning people clean that as part of their process. ##### Vince L. This property was perfect for a grown up sibling get together and hiking trip. It is centrally located for hiking in the Grandfather Mountain, Roan Mountain and Blowing Rock areas. The house afforded stunning views from all bedrooms and living areas, in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It was very clean and had every pan, tool , and gadget you could possibly need for cooking family meals. We had brought fans along ,since it did not appear to have air conditioning on the listing , but we were pleasantly surprised to discover it did have central air. The beds were comfortable , and there were bathrooms for each of us! The garage for the cars and the washer and dryer were nice ammenities. It was great to be able to kick off our hiking shoes in the garage,outside the entrance to the foyer to keep the floors clean. The fast internet and desks in the office room were wonderful for uploading the day's scenic hiking photos to share with the family members who couldn't join us. As mentioned in some other reviews, our check in had to be delayed a couple hours , since the cleaning was not completed when we arrived at 4\. We were understanding when we were told it was due to difficulty in staffing , like other service related businesses. So we took a walk around the neighborhood and scouted out a pizza place. If you are looking for a fabulous place to rest and restore your tired hiking legs, or just a spot to relax and reflect, we strongly recommend this slice of mountain paradise. ##### Nancy V.
