You will have to traverse some narrow roads to get there. Also, trying to communicate with a taxi driver to tell them where to go can be rather difficult, unless you have GPS or a Mobile WiFi device and a smartphone with Google maps. The staff was friendly, although some of them didn't speak English all that well. The location is very close to Wat Arun, a well-known temple in Bangkok. From Wat Arun, you can take a ferry across the river to Wat Pho, Temple of the reclining Buddha and The Grand Palace. I wouldn't recommend staying there for more than 3 or 4 days. You could easily see everything in the nearby area within that time frame. We rented a 2 bedroom apartment style room for about $80/night including taxes and fees. The pool is outside, which seems to be common in Bangkok. Bring sunscreen or buy it there.
