The house was clean,not spotless, but good enough. Views were incredible. Disappointed there was not deck table and comfortable chairs to sit on. Shouldn’t have a deck with amazing views and not have a few nice chairs and at least a cocktail table.

We enjoyed our stay! It was clean, slightly outdated but comfortable. The kitchen floor is interesting but the kitchen itself is very functional with plenty of space. My only complaint is that we were not provided a code to get in prior to our arrival. We had to call and were helped right away but the door was very hard to open and lock. The lock just spins so it was a little frustrating. Other than that, the view and access to the beach is of the best from the several we’ve stayed at on beach loop road. I do recommend a king bed for the master but it was a queen as clearly described.I recommend this place for a family or small gathering and the view is exceptional.

#### Beautiful home & location
Huge and beautifullly located home with a great view. Wood fire stove, and other amenities like washing machine and dishwasher are also handy. The house could use an instructions booklet, as it has hard to figure out the recycling and where to find wood when first arriving. A faded instruction on the fridge is easily missed. Some of the interior is a bit dated, and one of the lamp shades was celo-taped together, which seemed a bit cheap considering how otherwise lovely the place is.

#### Location is Great, but...issues
Perfect location with access to the beach. Vacasa provides great instructions and communication. I knew it was an older home in need of updating, but I was not expecting holes in the walls from old light fixtures, or what I am not sure. I had to wipe strings of dust off my bedroom walls and the paint was badly marked and stained. The living room shares a window with the deck to adjoining rental. The "blind" over the window is see through. We were sitting in the living room when someone came out onto the deck and could look right in on us. We had to rig up a blanket to cover the blind so we could have privacy.

#### My wife and I (and our dog) had a wonderful time.
What a view!!!! We had a great time at the Helm and Stern. The house is dated, but you can see where renovations are taking place. Not at the time we were there. I think they are strategically updating a little at a time. Very clean and what we expected. Everything worked and it is well equipped. Easy beach access. The Starboard portion of the house was occupied, but we didn't hear a squeak out of them. Very quiet. It must take a lot of effort to maintain wooden homes at the beach. I will make two suggestions.....1\. Fix the curtains, there are 3 or 4 that are broken, and 2\. The red light showing that the stove top is hot stays on....all the time. Other than that, which isn't much, it was wonderful. We will definitely stay there again. The dog says woof!!!!

#### This Home was PERFECT.....
I chose The Helm to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. It was everything that we wanted. It stormed all weekend and barely got to walk on the sand but it didn't matter. The woodstove and wood provided by the owners was PERFECT! Instructions included. The home is cozy and welcoming! The kitchen was appointed with everything we needed to cook in all weekend! Cast iron pans and all....The bed was comfortable and restrooms provided plenty of towels. Our dog Hazel made herself comfortable and enjoyed watching the ocean with us in the "swivel" chairs. :) I would say I'm a stickler in judging vacation homes and while this is an older home, I loved everything about it. The wrap around deck, stairs down to the ocean, the view, windows all around, heating in every room, and extremely clean. We only used the one bedroom, but there were 2 bedrooms in this unit. You can also rest the other side as well for a larger party. We are already talking about how we could utilize this for a family vacation at some point. You will not be disappointed with this rental!

#### Fantastic location, but house is a bit dated
The house is in a great location, with unobstructed beach views. The main living area has large picture windows to take advantage of the view, and it's a great place to sit and read, work, or watch the waves as they roll in. Beach access is easy, thanks to a staircase from the deck that leads down to a short path that takes you to the beach. The house and furniture are a bit dated. Some furniture feels older, and the kitchen hasn’t been updated for a few decades. However, it's all perfectly functional, and this didn't interfere with our enjoyment of the house. Just be aware that it's not new and modern if that's important to you. Our only complaint was not related to the house but to Vacasa's customer service. (We did not consider this in the star rating since it's not specific to the property.) Shortly after arriving, we discovered that the internet at the house did not work, and we had to call Vacasa three times to resolve the problem. Each time, it seemed like the rep we spoke with had no documentation or minimal documentation from our previous calls, so we bascially started over each time. The first two reps didn't seem empowered to resolve the issue. After speaking with the third rep, a local property manager came to the house and told us he couldn't fix the problem. It wasn't until more than 24 hours after we checked in that the property owner contacted us to resolve the issue.

#### Great spot on the coast!
It was an amazing spot with stunning ocean views! We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing was the rental just next store was also occupied and it was just a sliding door between the two spots. We did hear their dogs barking but otherwise it was fairly quiet.

#### The view is worth the stay. Clean windows are important
The windows looking out to the ocean make the house the perfect choice. We did have to clean the windows on the outside to get a perfect clear view. Made it worth the time and energy to enjoy it all the more. The kitchen pans, utensils and a few other kitchen items could be replaced. The overall stay was wonderful, just a few things of little expense could make it perfect!

#### Nice view, but that's it.
This place is beat up and is in serious need of some love. From the mice feces at the front door, to the rusted baseboard heaters, this place is a dump. Don't mind the leaky toilet, the interior maze of cobbled room additions and outdated kitchen. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Don't be misled by the photographs. If you decide to not heed my advice and do stay here, hopefully no one will be staying next door. Because you will hear every sound through the paper thin walls. The landscape is overgrown, the side door to the balcony is falling apart and the balcony is suspect at best. However, if ALL that you care about is the view.....then it is awesome.

Great location. Great floor plan. Great view of the ocean and access to the beach. The house was very dirty. My wife ended up cleaning it to get up to standards. Apparently being pet friendly means the floors and couches and hide a beds are never vacuumed or swept. We had dog hair all over our socks and kids blankets and clothes. Being allergic to dogs, it was not pleasant. Many of the dishes were dirty and still had food stuck on them. It was not very well furnished with utensils. The deadbolt bracket was not secured to the door frame so we had trouble using it. The window blinds were broken. It breaks our heart to see a place with so much potential be mis kept in that way. We loved Bandon and playing on the beach however spending time at the house was not pleasant.
