Casita avail to rent for add'l fee Casa Bambu is a 1 bedroom home situated on 1.5 acres with amazing views and an infinity pool. For guests who rent the main house a separate studio casita is also available for an additional fee (suitable for 1 to 2 adults or teenagers). The property has breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, white water beaches, Ballena Marine Park and at a distance – Cano Island and the Osa Peninsula. The custom house is tropical design, structural bamboo vaulted ceilings and local exotic hardwoods. Unique and charming – the property sits at an elevation of 1100 ft (300 meters) – keeping the house cool and fresh during the day, with mountain downdrafts to cool at night. A full kitchen with a gas BBQ, bathroom, living area, laundry and covered patio – all on the main floor. (The covered patio is a great for viewing songbirds, parrots, toucans, and aracaris as they visit the mango tree - not to mention the direct view of the Whales Tale and the Bahia.) On the lower level - a spacious master bedroom with King size bed and incredible ocean views. Offering A/C, quality linens, privacy, and large en-suite, along with a walk-in closet with a safe. Patio doors lead you to a private terrace where your infinity pool awaits. The house was designed for couples - offering the perfect amount of detail to create an escape from the everyday life of the northern hemisphere. Ideal for honeymooners, personal life celebrations, birders, those who just want to get away from the busy-ness of daily life. This property is serene, but full of plant, bird and tropical life! You will have the whole house and grounds to yourself. The casita will not be rented during your stay at Casa Bambu. WiFi at the house is very stable and fast Fiber Optic internet. There is a smart TV in the living room that can be used for streaming and watching movies. There is a washer and dryer at the house for the guests to use. Because the house sits at 1100 ft elevation, guests enjoy cool mountain breezes; however, we have installed air conditioning in the bedroom which can be used for a minimal additional charge based on usage and and the electric meter reading for your actual stay. Most guests who use the AC only use it to cool down the bedroom in the evening and have not gone over the budgeted allowance for electricity. Access to this property is along an incredible jungle road. (It does have a couple of steep sections to it and requires a 4WD SUV.) The house is about a 15 minute drive from town up a mountain road. There is a locked gate to enter the property. Stairs lead you from the parking area down to the front door and continue down to the bedroom on the lower level. There are security cameras for the entrances and driveway to the property. There are no cameras in the house or pool area. The support staff were friendly, communicated well and helpful with check in and check out. The property is clean, well maintained and perfect for a romantic getaway, until you want to go out. The drive up and down the mountain is the only negative. A capable 4x4 is a must as well as 4x4 driving skills. If you want to be way of the beaten path and be able to look down at soaring condors, watch macaws fly by your pool and many other types of birds, listen to the sounds of the ocean surf and watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise sky from your bed or pool, Casa Bambu cannot be beat. ##### Keith C. Very secluded and clean property. The bird watching from the property was also top tier (bring binoculars, you won’t regret it). AC in the bedroom worked very well for a comfortable sleep. My husband and I thoroughly researched properties in Uvita while planning our trip and are so grateful we found Casa Bambu. This jewel exceeded our expectations! The road up is no joke. We love to offroad so the 3 bumpy, curvy miles wasn't a concern for us but make sure you rent a 4x4 with low range and make the drive part of your adventure it's 15 to 20 minutes through the jungle each way. Casa Bambu is surrounded by lush trees and tropical plants with a clear view of La Ballena below. You feel completely secluded, although you may hear the buzz of saws working on properties nearby along with an occasional motorcycle blending in with the Cicadas. We woke up every morning to Aracari, Toucans and other tropical birds as we enjoyed coffee next to the pool. We ate in most nights to take in the sunset as we grilled fresh shrimp and ahi on the bbq. Wow, wow and more wow! Casa Bambu is a special, special place, and we were so fortunate to spend 6 magical days there. Peggy was wonderful answering my questions and providing recommendations before we arrived (and yes, get the 4x4 - you need it. I’ve been driving Costa Rican roads for 14 years, and the road up is no joke. But it becomes an incredible part of the adventure!) Jorge and Trina (property managers) were amazing and answered any questions we had. And the HOUSE!! The view is spectacular. You feel really secluded in a private, natural, calm, quiet oasis. We loved cooling off in the pool, sunsets on the loungers, morning time on the covered veranda watching the toucans, beautiful dinners in the eating nook and pre-sunrise snuggles in the beautifully appointed bedroom with the spectacular view. You have everything there that you need to chill, relax, cook great meals and connect with nature. If Casa Bambu is available, grab it! You will leave relaxed, re-energized and definitely believing in magic! ##### Bari A. Toucans and Aracaris were close by and the occasional maccau flew by shoing off their scarlet red bodies. Bring binoculars so you can take in the colorful details of the toucans off in the near distance...there's a tree they seem to all love.Pay particular attention to the owner's plea to rent a 4x4, you'll need it and be sure to get one with a high clearance as there are potholes. If you've ever driven in the Caribbean, particularly St. John, you'll be at home driving here. Nothing treacherous, just long steep lengths of dirt roads. There is a very popular waterfall with refreshing pools at the start of the road to the home so this site couldn't be more convenient. There was a sloth hanging out there during our week's stay.The home was very comfortable and the bedroom was rather spa-like. The owner and the management team were very attentive. Definitely one of the more comfortable stays my wife and I had. And Uvita is delightful as it is not too touristy and everyone is so polite. ##### Christopher H. Casa Bambú was so beautiful and comfortable, staying here was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. The views are just gorgeous, and we were in love with watching the colorful parade of bird visitors each day. We also loved the little geckos. The home had everything we needed, including a very well equipped kitchen that made prepping meals a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised to even find a set of yoga mats. It really feels like you are staying in a loved and well cared for home. The evening ocean breeze kept us comfy at night, we didn’t even use the AC. Peggy and her wonderful team were very helpful and proactive in communication, getting us settled in and checked out. Extra thank you to Jorge for meeting up with me afterwards to return an item I had left behind! You absolutely need a 4x4 to get there - the road is steep and rocky. Séjour de 4 nuits en février 2024 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Turner P. 18 févr. 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Perfect Stay in Uvita This was our first time to Costa Rica and we were so lucky to be able to rent this property. 9 days was not enough and we're already planning our next trip! From the start of the trip, Jorge met us at the base of the mountain and escorted us to the home. He walked us through the property and ensured that we understood how the water heater and stove worked (which was super simple). Jorge and Trina were always quick to respond to our questions via Whatsapp. The home was well appointed and had everything we could possibly need. I loved that the living area was separate for the bedroom - I was able to wake up early and get breakfast going while my wife slept in for a while longer. We had coffee on the porch every morning while listening to the howler monkeys in the distance. Multiple species of birds were spotted from the top deck including multiple fiery billed aracaris and a yellow throated toucan that visited often. The pool was perfectly clean and an excellent break from the mid-day heat. A cleaner came by at some point during the trip, but I they were so non- intrusive that I didn't even realize he was there until I noticed the handful of leaves were gone. The drive up the mountain takes about 20 minutes and you'll definitely need a 4-wheel drive for some of the steeper sections. We never felt unsafe on the drive, it is just a little bumpy. Speaking of safety, the home has a huge gate but we never felt unsafe at the home or in town. It was a perfect trip! ##### Turner P. Séjour de 9 nuits en janvier 2024
