Shell Cottage at Cape Fear Station invites you to Bald Head Island! BHI is a unique and peaceful island accessible by a 20 minute passenger ferry or private yacht. The island has golf carts and biking as the mode of transportation. Shell Cottage is within walking/biking distance to East Beach—one of the most favored beaches on the island—Turtle Conservancy, and Mike's Bites. Shoals Club is located conveniently close with a temporary membership available with a daily/weekly pass for an additional fee. The Maritime Market (grocery) is located 8 minutes by golf cart from the house with shopping and spa available. The Marina is located 12 minutes from the house with restaurants and many activities available. Long term rentals welcome. 1 month to 3 months available. Discounts applied. A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with a newly added bathroom and 2nd bedroom to make your family visit more comfortable. The house has a fully equipped galley kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, wifi/reliable internet, beach/bath towels, and bed linens. The house is equipped with a wealth of amenities including beach chairs, boogie boards, pop up tents, beach toys, youth sports equipment, movies, books, and games. The cottage has one 4 person golf cart provided for guest use. 4 adult bicycles and 2 kid bicycles are available for renter use (conditions vary due to beach climate). Complimentary starter supplies of cleaning products, paper towels and bath tissue. House is professionally cleaned between each guest. Early check in and late check out available depending on schedule. Please check with owner regarding availability of check in/out schedule. Sleeps up to 4 people. It's a small house, tall and narrow, but beautifully constructed, with lots of little nooks that make great use of the space. The same can be said of the kitchen, which despite being quite petite was one of the best-stocked I've experienced in a rental home—my husband and I had everything we needed to cook up a Thanksgiving dinner! The house was stocked with a few games, Legos and lots of beach toys. The kids bikes fit my two kids well and we really did not need to bring a thing for the kids but food and clothes. The beaches were beautiful and pretty empty. We joined the Shoals Club for the two days. We felt like it was nice but unnecessary unless you plan to eat out often. This house is perfect for a couple. It is just the right size where neither gets in each other’s way. The master bedroom suite is quite large with a very comfortable king bed, and the shower in the master bath is large and excellent. The house is very well stocked with excellent quality cookware. If you enjoy East Beach and the Shoals, this house is perfect. It is literally a Two minute drive to the beach entrance . Now, let me tell you about Dianne. She may be the best host I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She replies almost instantaneously and if there is any issue she gets it resolved immediately. It worked quite well for a couple visiting the island for a long weekend. Owner was super communicative, quickly responding to any inquiries. Cottage was clean and nicely furnished.
