Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Surf Shack at BHI is the best place for your family and friends to experience the magic of Bald Head Island. With 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom, it is perfect for 2 couples or a family with children. Located in the tranquil neighborhood of Surfman's Walk, it is only a short bike ride or golf cart to East Beach or Shoals Club. Enjoy your morning coffee on the porch, ride to the market for coffee, and spend your days at the beach. We have a one year old so have outfitted the house to be well equipped for young families. Kid features: 2 pack and plays, a large walk in closet that fits one of the pack and plays for baby/toddlers to sleep in (completely dark with outlets for monitors), Dohm sound machines in both rooms, a high chair, and an inflatable bath tub. We also have seatbelts on the golf cart for extra safety while driving around. Additionally, if you would like help in securing a babysitter for some days or nights during your time on the island, we are happy to provide a few resources to find those. We always love having the option of an adults night out and there are tons of sweet high school + college girls on the island with their family during the summer who love to babysit. PETS: We do allow a maximum of one pet, no cats (dogs only) and must be small or medium size. Please note there will be a pet fee and pets are not allowed on the furniture. SHOALS CLUB ACCESS. Info for temporary membership will be sent after booking. We also provide a brand new 4 person golf cart. If you would like to rent an additional cart that can be done through Cary Cart Company on the island by visiting their website. There are bikes and beach chairs for you to use while you are there. In addition, we have books, puzzles, games, and everything you should need for the duration of your stay to make it the perfect getaway. Bikes: 5 Adult \*\* We DO NOT guarantee bikes, beach towels (please bring your own), beach umbrellas or beach gear. Note that sometimes bikes or beach gear has to be cycled out due to wear so these numbers could be different at different times. Beach Chairs: 4 Crockpot: Yes! WIFI: Spectrum highspeed internet \*\*Linens and bath towels are included in rental. Beach towels are not included so please bring your own! \*\*Please see club membership notes: It is expected that the club memberships will sell out for summer dates and holidays, so we do encourage you to make arrangements with the clubs as soon as you book your rental. Year 3 on the island and we feel like we're becoming pros. It can be stressful with all the logistics re: packing, labeling, ferrying, traming, but once you experience it the first time and realize how lovely and organized everyone is, you get to set it and forget it! We're more of the Shoal's ilk and these units have been perfect for our fam of 4\. The BHI club is still requiring reservations (3-hr slots I think) since the pandemic and I can't bear the thought of keeping to a schedule while on vacation. And then there's the beach service the Shoals provides...you're right there on the beach!But yes, this home offered everything we needed. No notes :) Well, hahaha there was the golf cart. We're not used to the newer, zippier carts so just be aware this one does go well above the 18mph speed limit. Don't ask me how I know....Thanks for sharing your home with us which made for yet another amazing week at BHI! ##### Alice I. The location was perfect for us – a quiet street close to Shoal’s Club and Mike’s Bites. The kitchen was well appointed, beds among the best we’ve had on BHI, and the golf cart was new and quite zippy (unlike some others we’ve had on the island). The host made several thoughtful additions to make it toddler/kid safe and was in general, super responsive to our questions as well.
