![Statue to the fictional character Evangeline in front of the memorial building for the displaced Acadiens. For 8 years in the middle 1700's the British forcibly removed the French speaking Acadiens from this area because of an unfounded fear that they would take up arms against them. Grand Pre was an area of reclaimed land that was incredibly fertile. "Clean and comfy room, complete with a sitting area with a wonderful view of the bay. Excellent restaurant. Was quiet this time of year, had games room/grand salon pretty much to ourselves! Enjoyed the turn of the century decor and the beautiful grounds. Will be back!"
