Nice little inn/B&B in a small town within close proximity to Oxford, London, etc. Ate at the restaurant for dinner and the service was pretty scattered and inconsistent, along with the food. There were all kinds of things out and only 2-3 beers available but there were 8-9 on-tap. Breakfast was much better, so that made up for it a bit.
Decent amount of noise between rooms, were woken several times by the person next door.
Very nice place to stay. It was very nice to sit in the beer garden and have some pub grub. Food service started at 5:30 pm. Breakfast was really good. We stayed in the Willow room that can sleep up to four people. Only downside was the creaky floor from the guest above our floor. Would stay there again.
Lovely pub in a lovely area. Very good overnight stay in a nice, comfortable room. Dinner & breakfast was very good with plenty of options. Thank you to Rob and the team for a very enjoyable break. We will definitely return.
Lovely 2 night stay at the Clifden arms and we would stay again. Everything was just as described and the staff were super polite and helpful. We couldn't fault the service and the pub itself was very quaint and situated in the lovely Buckinghamshire countryside.
A delightful stay after we had taken a balloon flight. The room was comfortable and very clean. The main hotel a delight and the staff very attentive. A delicious breakfast.
Stayed for a couple of nights to attend meeting ne
Very traditional village pub with modern b&b facilities. Very clean room with big shower room. Great service from Rob the GM and full English Breakfast was of good quality and generous portions.
Lovely place to stay, not too far from the the park and ride into Oxford. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Fantastic food. Highly recommend it here.
Lovely property in the middle of the countryside - very quiet and peaceful.
Everyone was friendly and welcoming.
We had breakfast and dinner at the pub - lovely, fresh, good quality food and excellent service.
Oxford is a short drive away - thoroughly recommend a visit.
Great old pub with converted barn for rooms.Lovely food with good choice and quality. Friendly and attentive staff.
Part of beer garden is being developed at present but didnt detract from the stay.
This was a very nice country pub hotel.
Check in was easy enough and I was escorted to my room complete with a little jug of fresh milk. Room was really nice an clean. Wi-Fi was free and a decent speed. Had dinner at the pub and thete was a reasonable choice. Could have used somewhere to work in my room but found a corner in the pub instead. Had a decent night's sleep. Breakfast was included and looked really good. I just a coffee and toast guy on these working trips. Check out was easy.
Our stay at Clifden was odd. The room was pleasant enough. We modified our booking online from 2 nights to 1, but Hotels.com didn't notify them. Every time we encountered a new member of staff, they would look at us and go "Oh, you're our guests in the Willow room, you didn't show up the first night, and have you paid your bill yet." It was weird. Like the whole team got together with a picture of us and talked about us. We were asked like 5 times to pay our room charge, even the morning after we had paid it. Very unusual. I'm used to Hotels.com just charging for the room to my credit card, as is this why we booked this way.
Additionally, Clifden overcharged us for our room when Hotels.com didn't. We reserved two nights at 335GBP, so 167.50 per night. Their bill? 198GBP. The owner "graciously" took off the 10% service charge on our dinner bill, which was like 6-7GBP.
I found the whole experience kind of weird and a little scammy.
