Lewi Resort is definitely well located - with a gorgeous lake surrounding it. Personnel is very attentive to guests' needs and the restaurant is good. However, maintenance must be definitely improved if Lewi wants to attract more international travellers. Plus, a bit of fresh fruit for breakfast should be offered...

We stayed 12 years ago and it nothing has been updated. A little disappointed. The staff was great. The bungalow, even though listed as having a king pullout sofa and a king bed, only had a king bed and 2 chairs. We had to pay $30 dollars extra to get another bed in the room.

Decent rooms but lacking in amenities - no hot water, no coffee in rooms (but coffee pots). Didn't receive our airport transfer coming from airport. Friendly staff made up for it in some ways, but we were disappointed overall in the quality of the rooms and service.

I was excited about going to a hotel with pool but when I arrived the swimming area was not available because of renovation. The room looked better on photos than in real life, the wait time for a menu in the restaurant is 30 minutes and the same to enter the spa there was pre-booked. My expectations was very high before I arrived but Lewi didn't live up to them. Alot of promises in the hotel description was not kept and there were no refund in price or any extra service to make up for the lack. Beautiful veiw and nice little boat trip (when we finally could go just before checkout)

the only thing that was OK, was the bread! Bed is a made up circle that was very hard due to not having a mattress . Walls had holes by the windows that were not sealed so insects were free to enter! Food was terrible, made me sick for two days! So called city tour was never available! Mosquito net above the bed was useless! The staff was very friendly but who cares about that when everything else is terrible!

Lakeside Solitude with Exceptional Service
Staying at the Lewi was a welcome Awassa get away for four nights. The only disappointment was the current closure of the Spa and Children Story-telling rooms because of construction and renovations. Staff were very attentive from the welcome at the security gate, on to reception and lakeside dining. Special.staff stand guard with slingshots and sticks to scare of bold resort monkeys from stealing patron food and belongings. No monkeys are hurt in the process. Lewi staff and guests have learned to co-habitate with the monkey families. We were upgraded and welcomed to select our unit of choice, which was a beautiful round house with a sunfilled front porch. The one problem we had in the room was taken care of with a thoughtful net that sealed the entire bed from the buzz of the hungry mosquito band. The Lewi is definitely a do over for us to experience the spa services. Awassa is a beautiful, clean and humble town. The price is fair compared to neighboring accomodations.

Cockroach in bathroom , when arrived hotels have no room till I callls to call center to help and then they suddenly have room for us. Service was great and roll condition very poor and dirty most of thr área in the room. Also breakfast was just ok and below

There are mistakes in the hotel description as there is no airconditioning, no tea & coffee making facilities, no kettle. We booked a family suite with 2 bedrooms, but on arrival they did not have it available and instead gave us a different set of room which were fine. Even though the descriptions did not meet reality, the feel of the hotel was lovely and friendly. The monkeys add some African interest and the staff are very helpful. Breakfasts are hit and miss. Book a room with lake view as these have more air flow (as there is no AC)
