Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, this luxurious and dog-friendly lodge is a favorite choice for multi-generational families seeking high quality self catering accommodation. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, Dalfern Lodge comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests, the versatile space makes it ideal for large families or groups of friends. There are two double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and two twin rooms with one that can be made into a superking on request. We also have a single kids room with a pull out bed underneath. A toddler bed is also on hand in the main bedroom should you need to keep a little one closer, and a cot and high chair is also available. Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, and board games will keep you entertained and a desk area is available for any important work that cannot wait. In 2024 and 2025, the lodge was extensively upgraded. This included a fully renovated bathroom, a brand new additional bathroom, two refreshed bathrooms, and a modern new heating system. The garage was also opened up to provide a fantastic indoor space with a pool table, darts, and storage for bikes and outdoor kit. These improvements build on earlier upgrades to the bedrooms, beds, and outdoor space. At Igloo, we believe in responsible tourism, and we take our eco values seriously. That's why we have partnered with Trees for Life to plant a tree in our Caledonian forest grove every time you book with us. We also strive to support the local community. The house is so well equipped with great facilities for everyone. The Host’s were extremely helpful and when we realised the kettle wasn’t working we had a replacement in under 30 minutes. The accommodation is lovely, spacious and very well equipped. Aviemore town centre is only a short walk away from the Cottage which was perfect for going out for a family meal followed by a dip in the hot tub finished off with drinks in front of the beautiful log fire. The bbq hut had no charcoal and it was not very inviting to cook in or sit in- very disappointed. The playhouse was also dirty. The general cleanliness of the place let it down, dusty and dated. ( needs attention to detail.) Think we paid over the odds given that the outside facilities were so poor (which is why we chose this instead of our usual place with Silverglades). Wouldn’t recommend it or be returning as it stands. Had good weather for once and had nowhere to enjoy it.
