It was cold outside but the room was lovely and cozy warm. Nice dinner and my breakfast was included. It is right next to the ferry dock in Gudvangen. In the morning, after breakfast I walked over to the Viking Village and did a tour there… very interesting and worth doing. The bus stop was no more than a 10 minute walk from Fjordtel and I jumped on the bus to Bergen. Fun to stay I chose this place because the hotels in Flam were quite expensive. At first, the exterior of the hotel made me hesitate a little, but after staying here, I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was beautifully upgraded and very clean, far better than the outside appearance. The staff were also kind and helpful. The breakfast was slightly below average, but the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. The location is amazing and the people were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here and not in Flam. Cruise ships cannot come into the fjord that far, so at night it is very peaceful. We had a two bedroom - just a note that it is a bit of a walk from the main hotel area down the road, so if anyone has mobility issues they should be aware of that. The staff were really lovely and accommodating and offered us early check in as we arrived on the bus from Voss with all of the other tourists and I had a cranky 3 year old. The breakfast was excellent - lots of variety and fresh food. We enjoyed visiting the Viking Valley - which I don’t think is affiliated with the hotel but the restaurants are owned by the same people. We stayed one night as we took a ferry from Bergen to Flåm in order to get to Oslo. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and if we had to do it over would've stayed a couple nights and done hiking in the area. The room was clean and there was plenty of space. The property had 2 restaurants and a third at the viking village was available.
